View Full Version : US Election 2004: Countdown to the Recount
Since it is tee minus 1 day to the countdown to the recount, I would like to start a poll to see who will be the president from the TM community. Remember this is just for fun. :D
Kerry ?

He's independant...very left/ecologist. Al Gore probably lost (did he actually :rolleyes: ) due to his participation 4 years ago. It's going to harm Kerry this time too, probably less however as people are more aware of what is at stake.
You left out:
Badnarik (Libertarian)
Cobb (Green)
Peroultka (Consitution)

They are probably not on the ballot in every state or U.S. possesion. They don't stand much of a chance in that case, not that they did anyway.
BTW, it's spelled "Nader" not "Nadar".

@Jayl
Peroutka - Constitution
@Keith
That will definitely be the case. But for me, the CPF party best fits my values and beliefs. I also refuse to "waste" my vote on Bush or Kerry. Not too fond of Bush, but I despise Kerry even more.

Why would you list Nader, who has no party organization and is on the ballot in only 39 states, over Badnarik, who's on the ballot in 49 states and whose party is fielding over 1,000 candidates nationwide? (You guessed it, I vote libertarian).

That doesn't even make him a bad man, just normal. You should hear the tales of my hubby's co-workers. I don't see HOW they have time to work with as much as their pants are down.

@shellybell29
Ok, I am likely to catch some flames for this, but doesn't that describe most men? :D
:::Edit::: Yeah, I am a man and no I do not fit that "category." I just know a lot of members of the male sex do. :LOL:

I think I had all of them, plus a couple more. There were like seven or eight in total. Never heard of most of them. :)

There should have just been a 3rd Party vote on this poll instead of Nader.

I could accept that.

Alright, I voted Nader on this poll with the understanding that it counts for 3rd Party, not Nader. ;) hehe.

Yes I like Bill Clinton. Let the flames begin lol. He wasnt a bad president.
Here's his record as I see it:
-Impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice;
-Botched historic opportunity at healthcare reform by delegating to his doctrinnaire wife;
-Failed to achieve any of his stated policy goals;
-Raised my taxes after promising that he would not;
-Multiple (unproven) accusations of sexual misconduct, including rape, while governor of Arkansas (slimeball factor);
-Rented out the White House for campaign contributions (slimeball factor);
-"Don't ask, don't tell";
-Didn't inhale (slimeball factor);
-Depends on what the meaning of 'is' is (slimeball factor);
-Skirted law on Whitewater deal (slimeball factor);
-Let Al Qaeda off with a slap on the wrist after their embassy attacks;
-Withdrew from Somalia with mission unachieved;
-Narrowly failed to achieve Israeli-Palestinian peace accord.
One of the all-time greats, alright. Given that credit for the budget surplus belongs mainly to Congress, and presidents have nearly zero effect on economic expansions and contractions, what can you list in the plus column?

That's it! Straight to hell for you! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de//devil/firedevil.gifOr purgatory anyway - if you'd tried to claim that flutes, clarinets or *grits teeth and forces the word out* oboes were better, then it would be Pandemonium for you!

I KNOW this will get severe flammage but has anyone else noticed how the only states who carried Kerry are those who contain the "wealthier" citizens. Not to mention that all the states with the highest military enrollments voted FOR Bush? Just an observation. Something to think about too.
BTW....I abstained from voting in this election so I have no bias toward any candidate....I miss Ross Perot lol. :D

Almost my exact sentiments. I did have a preference as to which (Texas) man I wanted to win! :D Only, I piddled around until it was too late to register to vote. I know.. only have myself to blame. :eek:
