Maybe I'm missing something but I cannot mantain the upkeep of this site even if in my city there are a lot of the resources required.
Every year, although I've built 5 Barge Landings, the site is able to obtain only the same small fraction of the upkeep.
Any suggestion?

I chose the to build the canal even though it was more expensive because it had no upkeep (I know that doesn't help you - sorry)

Myrdivar: 1. Add up all the food you're supposed to export and set your Food Reserve to that amount.
2. Build one or two bakeries RIGHT NEXT to your barge landings. Each bakery can hold up to 500 food.
3. Above should do it... the traders have to be able to find the food ready to go.
4. For future: By any chance do you have an Exchange and a Merchant running it? If you do, the traders can go there to tap all bakeries not just one.
Hope this helps :D

I've concentrate the landings in the lower right of the main island. Near them there are 12 brick makers and 2 bakers. In their proximity there's an operational Exchange point with some cargo drop-off and I've already reserved the upkeep requirements. Only the papyrus maker is a little far away from them, maybe it's the cause of the problem.

Myrdivar: Oh... good point!... * head smack * If they want papyrus as well as food, have papyrus makers near dock. Weapons ditto. Or for any item, exchange...

Hmm.. well, I've built three papyrus maker near the landings and stopped any other world relation but the one with the site. I've seen that no ship arrives for retrieving the goods; three donkeys appeared instead from the south.
These animals brings the good to the site and they run directly to the palace to retrieve them. The problem is that there're always 3 donkeys and each one can carry 10 papyrus, 40 bricks and 100 food.
This way there should be 5 of them to retrieve the needed upkeep. Only one year suddenly appears a fourth donkey but is still not sufficient.
Any idea? I don't know what else to do.

I doubt it's much help, but I completed BOTH the canal to the Faiyum AND the Princes Wall. I guess my city just had lots of surplus resources, though, cause I never had a problem maintaning the wall. Perhaps you just need another noble or two and some more farms?
Just a thought..

Thanks but I doubt it. I've 10.000 food stored in graneries and a reserve of 1.000 of both bricks and papyrus. It should suffice I think.

Are you sure that the papyrus you have reserved is not being used by scribes and priests in your city? I don't think the reserve function keeps them from buying papyrus, it just keeps trade routes from taking it all. You may need to produce more papyrus.

Myrdivar,
Could you please post a savegame of your city? A savegame would help us take a more thorough look to see what may be causing the issue.

Sure, this was saved before opening the site and closing all other relations. The city is not perfectly stable because I've built more brick makers and mills just to try if I can reach the upkeep.

Oh, since you have the savegame you can also try to stop the relation with the mercenary camp and let the raiders attack the city.
Sometimes as soon as I receive the Raiders Attack message the game crashes to Windows but this is not a great problem, I can always restore the relation with the camp or buy the raiders

Myrdivar, I had many issues with supplying the Prince's Wall as well. I ran out of villagers, and had to wait many years for my people to have enough children to fill out the new jobs I needed to be able to pay the upkeep. (I haven't looked at your save yet.) I had to keep adding things, to build up enough food to both support all the people I had working, plus enough to send on to the others. I've attached my completed save, if you wanted to look at it for an idea to help you better. :)

Thanks for the save Myrdivar. We're looking into and hopefully we should have more info soon.

Reserving things means that they're purely available for trade and can't be used by your citizens.

Thanks for posting on this city. I've had the same problems as you with maintaining the resources for the Prince's wall. Howver, I couldn't figure out where the goods were going (donkeys, huh?!) as the goods were disappearing but no ship was docked at my barge landing. I restarted it(and built it up to huge proportions) at least three times and will build the other requirement instead.

Itjtawy was a very funny scenario to play.
Think about different solutions.
Finally i had 12 villagers left. The city is very stabil and you can run it for a long time.
Here some impressions and the save.
When you open the save, go to the world map and open the route to Hathor Stele to see the success screne.
btw. enough goods for the wall is availible.

@sitearm Yes of course :D
Btw I forget to say
The first thing in this scenario was to give all my villagers a new name.
It was very funny to track down the families during the ages.

do you have to have a certain amout of prestige to win this level?

Myrdivar:
It looks like the problem was arising due to some traders that were having trouble getting onto the map and blocking others leaving it. This is a problem that seems to happen with some of the land based traders trying to get to cities built on the island in this scenario.
From your savegame, I can see that you've already won the scenario so I'm guessing you just wanted to build the Wall for fun and for the carryover site. If you still want to go back and do that, there is a bit of a workaround that helps the site get its upkeep. To alleviate some of the trader congestion, try placing a merchant center in the south on the west bank (not the island) of the river. Taking your save I was able to get the Prince's Wall to complete with only one upkeep shipment partially missed.
Hope this helps!

Thanks again
