Unsure if this is a bug or not.....

Does anyone else notice that your little message ticker thingy doesn't work until you open a trade route? I get all the pop up messages just fine and when I click on the message icon the screen with all my messages pops up fine but the "ticker" never shows anything until I've opened up a site on the world map. Then, when I return to my city I get the whole backlog of messages scrolling through until they're caught up. It's not really that big a deal but it's wierd seeing a messages congratulating my Pharaoh on his 38th BDay when I just got a pop up saying that he's reached the age of 45!!!!!!
Anyone? Thoughts?

Well, I'm in Bubastis and I don't have any trade yet... However, I do get the message text in the bottom window... I think... must check that...

I haven't been able to pinpoint if it only happens when I open up a trade route or if just visiting the world map is what does it but I definantly do not get messages until the world map is involved. Now if I click on the message button I see all my messages just fine. Bah. :D

So they're being recorded, just not displayed in the bottom of the screen?
