A friend of mine bought the game and didn't like it so I purchased it off of him. It installs OK but it won't run. I get th message:
"Unable to authenticate original disk within time limit"
I've attached my Dxdiag file but I doubt it's my PC.
Any suggestions?

You may want to check HP or Samsung for any updates to your 616E firmware if you are running the game from that drive. I know that the 616T had a problem with SecuROM on the VU Games "The Thing" game. They fixed it in a flash update. Maybe the 616E has a similar problem.
I realize you have a HP, and I found the updates on the Dell site, so check with HP.
You may also want to visit the Blizzard Entertainment tech support website at:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=awr0648p
Use this to analyze your problem and see if SecuROM/drive or drivers could be the cause.

Both your video and sound card drivers are a bit old. You need drivers from at least July 2004.

First, try putting the CD in your other drive and see if that works
Second, as Keith suggested, check the Blizzard tech help forum and go through the steps they suggest for this sort of problem. If you still have problems, let us know and we'll go from there.

I assume you've installed to your C drive and not your D drive? (D drive looked pretty full, which shouldn't cause a problem immediately, but just checking)

Thanks to all.
It's working fine now and I've done nothing, go figure. I will update my drivers though.
Oh, and the D drive is the partition they put all the software on so you can burn your own DVDs or CDs for it. I'm not used to these complete package PCs, I've being building my own since the 286. The software tries to do everything for you and ends up doing nothing.
