View Full Version : Citizens 'stealing' RAW food from bakeries?

 OK, why is this happening now?

I've observed (several times) a bakery with xxx / 327 bread, and plenty of supplies for the baking. A citizen will walk up, enter the bakery, and take some of the baking supplies! (and I've seen farmers and overseers doing this!)

Why didn't they take the bread? (it's not just veggies, either, it's all the supplies, including raw wheat and barley!)

NOW what am I doing wrong? They just can't bake fast enough before their supplies get stolen, and now nobody has bread!

Government workers use barley to make beer, so that doesn't sound unusual. Veggies are also distributed from bakeries, so that's not strange either. Bakeries serve as distribution points throughout the city.

click on one or two the next time and see if any non-govt. takers are vagrants. If yes, city guards will control

It's my understanding from the help file that neither barley nor wheat grains are consumed raw, but rather baked into bread first. Additionally, beer is made from the actual barley BREAD in this game (I've heard they soaked it in water, which would make sense - sugar and yeast!). So it still doesn't make sense that its disappearing.

Do we know if veggies are used in bakeries to make bread, or just distributed?

Actually, I hadn't even considered that. Now that there are no vagrants (full employment), the problem hasn't recurred...perhaps it was all vagrants.
