I wish windowed mode worked better. I turned on the editor and fiddled with it for a bit, and clicked on the full window button, none of the buttons worked, and the cursor went all jumpy. With it on the small window mode, the buttons work, and it seems to be ok, but its kinda catchy when you try and scroll.

Havent tried to play the game in windowed mode yet.

I just jump to the desktop (after saving!). Use <alt><tab> or the windows key.

Try changing the ini file line Full Screen Mode 1 to 0 first, then resave the ini. They don't recommend running the game in anything but the full screen mode, IIRC, and the windowed mode may have problems.

Yeah I know, thats how I get the windowed mode. Its not fully supported I guess. But see, I am online a huge bunch so playing while online and having someone IM can be bothersome to have to switch back and forth, which is why a windowed mode (thats supported), would be nice. :)

IM'ing while playing like ALT+TAB'ing is probably not recommended. It makes the game unstable.

Keith: Relax, man... we'll just get Dreamsoftwilight a second computer! :D

Just a second monitor. JuliaSet was telling me she has that setup but I don't know how she works it. :p

Jeff's talked about doing this on his computer ... I think there's a switch you use ... we've also had two computers on one monitor before since we didn't have an extra monitor to use for the proxy server.

You need a video card that supports two monitors and the software that comes with the video card that supports two monitors :D

... or simply a second video card. If it's just for editing stuff, it could be a cheapy.

... also, XP, 2k and 2k3 all support multiple monitors via multiple video cards natively, so you don't need any special software for that ... it will also support multiple monitors via multiple video cards with simply the proper drivers, no further software, except perhaps on a few of the Matrox cards.

The only problem I have playing the game in window mode is that it's cumbersome to use the mouse to scroll the map. If I stick with the arrow keys for scrolling, everything works fine.

When running full screen, I do sometimes use Alt-Tab or the Windows key to switch to other applications. In the early days, I had several crashes doing this (the readme file warns that this might cause crashes), but I haven't had a single crash since installing the patch. I don't remember this being one of the things the patch was supposed to fix, so it might just be a coincidence. But I'm happy.

I just noticed in my newest copy of the CyberGuys.com (http://www.cyberguys.com/templates/searchdetail.asp?T1=131+0837) catalog, that they have a USB adapter that will let you plug in a second montor to it, no software or hardware other than the adapter and monitor required.

I've had fewer problems alt-tabbing from a paused game or the world level. If you are experiencing problems with alt-tab, try the above and see if it helps.
