hi, i just bought this game tonight because when i go home for the holidays i will not have the internet which means no COH for me :(. However, when i try to install the game I get this error "Error 1311. source code not found: F:/data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it." Now I have extracted all the files from data1.cab and I have also run the demo just fine, it installed and worked properly so i dont think its my system. Anyone else have this problem?

Check your game CD for any dirt, fingerprints, scratches or smudges. Clean the CD surface properly if needed and try again.

InstallShield has this on Error 1311:

The guys from Tilted Mill monitor the boards, so I am sure they are or will be aware of your problem shortly.

Also, try this.

1. Make a new folder on your desktop called TEMP. Open it.

2. Using My Computer OPEN the list of files ont he CotN game CD. You want to see the files not run the setup.

3. With the list of files on the CD visible press CTRL+A (select all) and select all the files and folders on the CD.

4. Using the COPY command copy the selected files and folders.

5. PASTE what you have copied into the new TEMP folder.

6. Run the setup.exe file from the TEMP folder and see if it installs.

You can delete the TEMP folder later whether it works or not.

Hello Little Pineapple,

We haven't seen or had any reports of this behavior up until now. If Keith's suggestion doesn't work please post here so we can see what else we can do for you.

In doing some quick research, it appears that other games have had similar problems when being installed from a DVD Burner. If you could post your dxdiag information, that would be most helpful as well.

Thanks and good luck!
