Ok there was a few things in Ceasar that I loved seeing...
Missionaries, that was a really cool idea, and Id like to see than in IV. I think I had more fun making missionary ouposts than I did the actual game. heh
I liked the way the farms were set up, where you planted crops and such.. sorta like in Emperor.
I liked the dual game play for each area, combat and non-combat missions.
I liked the different graphics for different areas of the world, like in the middle east, there were mud-brick homes and stuff, in northern europe the houses were thatch and stone and the like.
---
I didnt like playing in Britannia, because Id have to enslave my ancestors >_> heh

ZOMG bring back sea walls! No CB since C3 has there been sea walls! It messes up the whole concept of urbanisation when you can't pave the rivers, the streams and the sea! And docks need to look like real city docks, not little fishing wharves. PLS, I want to pave the water!

I don't recall buildings changing depending on locale, though the terrain and conditions (such as fires occuring twice as much in desert places) were different. Am I missing something here?

Sea walls appear automatically when you build near water.

Oh yeah, the rocky looking coast stuff.... I remember now....but the buildings changing...I cannot recall that...I'm almost tempted to start it up to see if that's really there. :D

Yes, it is there. The shoreline just got a nice neat looking littles wall between the water and land. Nothing fancy.

How about the changing building graphics for differing regions? Was that in there as well?
Your own city buildings look the same in each of the three terrains. But native houses have different looks, as well as the rocks and trees, and of course the ground.

I seem to recall my casa being a tad darker in the desert... ah well. I like diversity, if different terrains provide different textures I'd love it. :)

I would also like to see different graphics for different regions! The Roman Republic/Empire colonised many diverse parts of the "known" world and their cities and the countryside should accurately reflect this diversity. It would make the game seem more realistic for the player and give them greater 'ownership' of each new map.
In C3 there were also automatic upgrades for the bathhouses and senate, if the surrounding residential area reached a certain level. Nothing major, just more marblesque.
