From the screen shots I have seen there are not yet hints on agriculture. One could expect latifunda, very big properties owned by patricians and/or small farms owned by veterans, specially in the provinces.

Hmm didn't think of latifunda. Maybe patricians have city and country homes where they could plant their crops. Not to mention the state or personal farms. Much like the farms in the palace in CotN.

Roman farming will be an interesting proposition in this new game if workers are to have to go shopping for food and household goods as in CotN. In CotN the farmers' homes were generally concentrated and could be serviced from a few strategically located 'shopping centers', but even then it was sometimes difficult to provide adequate services for the farmers when they came in from the floodplain. Imagine the increased problems if small veteran's farms are scattered about the countryside. I would guess (probably wrong, I usually am about these things  ) that latifunda where several families' homes could be concentrated in a central area with shoppes and a temple or shrine might be the way things will go. Ah, but we can only speculate for now...
