Absolutely beautiful. We do have a serious C4 competitor! (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=27940&mode=thread&order=0)

Come on guys, you do have to implement a good military factor on C4 to make a difference!

It looks like C4... I wonder if they plagerised C4 to get that stuff... O_o

There's a trailer that I found at gamespot from earlier this year (free registration required). But the trailer doesn't really tell you much. Graphically, it looks about the level of C3. But that will be good enough for me if the game play is good. The release date is set at Oct 5, 2005. But that is an older date, and may have been revised.

Gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/heartofempirerome/index.html?q=Heart+of+Empire%3A+Rome) says it will be a Europe release on 18/10/2005.

Their website has it 10/2006. Too bad.

Umm... those screenshots look nothing like C3... perhaps you meant C4?

Well, no, I meant C3. That was the graphics in the trailer. But the individual screen shots on their own-web site have that clean. 3-D look like C4.

Someone posted about Heart of the Empire months ago, long before C4 was announced, so I doubt if there was any plagerism.

One thing I noticed in most of the screenshots, until those just mentioned above, is that there are no people depicted among all those buildings. Those large decorative trees with the square cut foliage look a little strange. I'm not so sure that a tree that large would have been pruned into such a shape. Smaller trees probably would have had some sort of decorative pruning.

Here's a couple of screenshots mentioned in that previous posting about HOE.

Yes months ago... but how long has TM been planning C4? its just suspicious that HOE and C4 look alot alike...

Eh, what would you expect to have the graphics look like for two games based on the Roman Empire?

If anything, when I first saw the graphics of HOE, I immediately thought of the graphics of the cities in Rome Total War which seemed to be much more similar in appearance than ones in CotN at that time.

At any rate, the graphics are nice, but it's the game play that is going to make or break HOE or C4.

Who cares...it's another potential city builder to play.....I'll probably buy it unless it looks ridiculously bad on the box. :D

I might give it a try as well, I already decided to do so when it first popped up just before the release of CotN.

Yes, I noticed that as well. And: no roads ... how could they do that? The Romans built roads everywhere..

There's a trailer out where there's a short glimps of people walking in the city but no roads to be seen anywhere.

You can find the trailer at http://www.deepred.co.uk/

IGN has 35 pictures but as far as I can see none with people or roads. The Romans is famous for their roads so I don't get why there's no roads. It's almost like an Roman army without anyone bearing the Gladius.

No roads? Didn't notice that at first. I was wondering for a while why those screenshots looked a little strange. I knew there was something missing. ;)

I wonder, have you seen the screenshots from my first thread? There are a lot of roads, gardens and people...

And, on the bottom right of several screenshots you can see some... arrh... advisers?!?

I guess the other screenshots we saw must've been the Alpha version ones. The square trees in the new ones look kind of wierd, though.

Who cares? I'll buy it anyway. It looks fantastic!

C4 is still one year apart.

P.S.: I'll try the demo of AOE3 (http://www.ageofempires3.com/), Rise & Fall (http://www.stainlesssteelstudios.com/Rise.html) and Europe Barbarorum ( http://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=31) also.

You know what, in the UE (European Union) we have a rule about dates:

yyyy-mm-dd instead of mm-dd-yyyy like the British/English spoken people often use.

Sorry about that. It was my mistake.

Of course, GB is a member of UE but they have their own “habits”/Culture; God bless them for not been completely invaded by the Romans.
