As a newbie in soft developpment, i wanna ask you people what is left to do before release.

Of course, I'd like to play asap but also wondering at what dev level is the game today?

For instance : what has been shown in E3? something playable? just screenshots and video? could visitors actually play a small mission?

What is alredy done in the following checklist (and what do i miss)

software stuff like .... I don't know but software that make the game run...
Design for all the building, environment, people
3d engine
campaigns
beta test
translations in all langage
music
marketing campaign
Manual/booklet
packaging

BTW : what is beta test, do they really let selected people have a try and comment?

Thanks

They had better have most of those things development done and be hard at work testing and fixing bugs. Campaign/scenarios should be being run to fix THEIR bugs (and balance). They better be starting the beta test very soon if they want to meet the 4Q planned market deployment. The game may (hopefully) be more complicated than COTN was (they inferred there would be more scenarios) and take more testing (COTN certainly could have used more bug fixing time before its release) .
