Can anyone figure out what I did wrong on this map?

I took a copy of the 'Upper' map, and modified it to show farther upstream for my Nubian Pharaoh campaign. The dds file looks pretty good (it could have been better, but that is probably the toughest challenge I have ever taken on with Photoshop), but when I bring it into my scenario, it is cut off at the bottom of the screen, both in the editor and the game.

It seems to be cut off by about the same amount that I cut off of the top to make it fit onto the screen. Could that be it? Also, I have noticed that there are HUGE files in the map folder called "map name".sst, and I don't have one fo rthis map. Could that be it?

Could someone / everyone take a look at this dds file and advise me please?

Thanks for any help.

Has anyone had a chance to look at this yet? After rebooting tonight, the problem is still the same.

Thanks! :)

I don't know anything about dds files, but I do know that the map in the editor has an x/y coordinate system. Maybe you need to reset that somehow for it to see the rest of your map or change what part of the file its reading?

I haven't touched editing the DDS for the world maps yet. What I've done if locations are too far away than what the built-in world maps allow, I just abstract them and put them far near the edges.

For example, none of the WL maps extend that far into Nubia so I just stick a Nubian city like Kerma at the far bottom edge, but high enough to be visible.

I'll look more into it when I have the chance, though. :)

I figured it out!! :D

From reading Racoon_TOF's post here: http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showpost.php?p=51246&postcount=9

and reading the Photoshop help, I was able to learn that when I moved the original Upper map upward to create the lower end, the Alpha layer was moved up, cropping the bottom side and messing things up.

Just selected the Alpha layer, filled background white, and I am all set.

Props to TOF!
