I think that about covers it :D
But I'll add that although the Zeus/Poseidon series was my favorite, I am much looking forward to Caesar IV. Cheers!

A Zeus II, by that name, would only be possible if VUG/Sierra decide they want one. They one the rights to Zeus. However, TM could possibily add such a game under a different name to their own "Immortal Cities" line.
Many people are looking for something new away from the Mediterranean for a change. There are tons of suggestions from over the past years of where to go next from Mesoamerica (Aztecs, Mayans, Toltecs...) to India, China (again), or Japan. Still other have ideas on more recent times and locations on which to base a game.

I get them from all over. When I see one I like I download it. Or I just copy their URL and paste them to notepad text file list that I keep.

Hail to Caesar...now make another Zeus!
Disclaimer: I have no personal relationship with this GREAT intelligent woman, one who obviously knows her CB games very well!
PS ~ I am fallling in love again.
:)
Z/P was also my favorite. The only thing that kept it from being totally wonderful was the lack of a scoring system and a hall of fame.
And we could have historically accurate raiding!:D

If Zeus had more realistic graphics (I never cared for the 'Dr. Seuss' look) I'd STILL be playing that game.
I think it's interesting how much better these games became (IMHO) when they just flat-out DITCHED the 'ghost-employment' walkers. That was just a bridge too far in complexity for me....
I often wished they could have made a patch that just permanently 'turned on' the 'we have labor living nearby' switch for C3. Of course now that C4 is almost upon us....

The old labor access problem is probably not going to be an issue in Caesar IV.
I am hoping they leave that problem behind with Caesar IV. Nothing is more bothersome than plunking down tents in remote areas of farmland etc. From the looks of the screenshots the farmers in Caesar IV will be living on their farms in houses attached to the farmland.

Thanks Angelisis!
The whole emloyment thing was pretty much sorted by the time Emperor came out wasn't it? At least, I thought so.....

It was actually first changed in Zeus, the game after Pharaoh. Zeus used an entirely new system and removed the old ratings goals from the game among other things. The changes were made to make it more appealing to a wider gaming audience. Many people thought Zeus/Poseidon, and Emperor were too easy in comparison to Caeasr III and Pharaoh/Cleopatra.

yes it was but that's why it was more fun. I did not think pharoah was that hard just tedious at times. caeser was a pain in the ass......i never got into it but like i said before c4 hopefully will change that.:D

It all depends on preference. Some absolutely love the bean counting, others like a more laid-back experience. :)
Not that I want things "easy"; I simply prefer less hassles and arbitrariness. ;)

It also depends on your definition of "fun." Some of us that started out with the earlier games preferred that sort of challenge and considered that "fun."

I started with the earlier games myself, begginning with Caesar II. I didn't like what they did with Caesar III, finding it the most tedious and boring of the series, and needless to say, that game is seldom on my hard drive. ;)

Fortunately, enough people did like it in order to ensure the start of a entire series.

Yeah, I miss some of CIIIs walker challenges, I liked working out those road systems.
Got all the way to the last map, the one you needed 90 prosperity (if I remember correctly), before I got stuck and after looking around found the wall gate 'trick'. Couldn't get it stable enough to hit 90 until I used the old loop and gate thing, good thing I guess as after that the whole game was super easy. Replayed it again though just to make nice cities with my new found knowedge :P
Hope rioters/crime makes a comeback, after the roadblocks came in you never had a prob as it was easy to make police patrols.
