Perhaps I can help out a bit, Helle. This is supposidly the scenario Diospolis - XX Dynasty Scenario (http://www.tiltedmill.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5039) by Raccoon_TOF who's links no longer work?
I cannot test it, since I already have the original installed on my game.
Hopefully, someone who does not have the original installed will post here how well it works. Especially the Win Screen that I "think" may require the original, since that one used the Campaign folder as part of the install.
It is a very difficult scenario, with a prestige requirement of 1000, but one of the GREATS!
Thank you, Helle (Let me know if I am waaay off base here)! :)

I was pretty sure it would work & play, Helle. I was talking about the Win Screen itself. I have concluded that you can play scenarios from game saves even if you don't have the scenario on your computer. But this one is different. I am no expert, though. :)
I also wanted to get the correct spelling in here so that this thread would show up on a Forum Search. Please cross-link to here from Raccoon's thread. Thankx! ;)
Thank you Helle :) I used the opportunity and downloaded your zip file. I don't have time to play this scenario now, perhaps later in autumn (while hoping to get C4 for Christmas). Looking very much forward (with awe  ) for the prestige of 1000, although I read already about the final stages of how it should be done. :(

I tried downloading the zip file given for the scenario and placing it in the campaign folder but the game crashes when it starts to load up the scenario. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Welcome to our family, Tstan005! :)
As I posted, I already have Diospolis installed on my computer. It appears Kiya has already tested it. I will download Helle's link now, rename it & test it out. BRB.
EDIT: OK, I downloaded it. It unzips as a .ssa file, which you don't need to rename. (I did rename it to test.ssa, however, cuz I already have that name there.) Which means you need to place it in your Campaign folder which is a subfolder of COTN's DATA folder.
Then play it by first "Play a Campaign" ==> "Other Campaigns"
It loaded fine & I got the Campaign World Map & chose the only city on it. The Scenario loaded fine & I briefly placed a bunch of buildings & went to the World Map. Looks great to me, Tstan!
Disclaimer: Since I already have the Original Diospolis on my computer, my test here is faulty. If her file makes a call to something not in her zip, there could be problems for you & not me. The Original Diospolis placed a few other files in my COTN & this was what I was worried about. Take this test with as many grains of salt as you wish.
I am not a tech person in any way, so can't help you there. Helle's zip appears to work well! :)

I don't recall the exact details of how I setup the install files at this point, but IIRC the World Map file has to be in a separate directory, due to the way that CotN's file structure is setup. See my comments in the original thread for more info...

Racoon, really enjoy the campaign. Have played 4 times, but cannot get the 1000 prestige, as points keep decaying. Have saved the Great Pyramid and the grand obelisks until last construction, but still no go.
HELP!!!

Texasmine, Raccoon purposely used the COTN Prestige decay to create a challenge. In order to win the Scenario, you must prevent this decay from happening.
This is your hint. Think about what I have just posted.
Hint #2 is to read the original thread, at a later time, but not now. :)

I enjoyed the game so much that is why I thought I would try my hand at making one. :)

I don't think so. Just right click on the doc file and say open in new window. It should open.

It is a Wordpad document, Grad. Right clicking does not give the the new window option. It opens in Wordpad & sez I "unable to load graphics converter filter".
Worry not, it is me & not you! :)
My wordpad is original & not updated for years. ;)

Have just gone through my 5th try at this scenario. I don't understand why the grand obelisk prestige total before I build them totals 609 points, but once they are constructed only total 396 points. I would still be short 4 points to win, but I can fix that on the next try, before erecting the obelisks. But what's the point of wasting more time if the total points for the obelisks isn't going to reach the 600+ promised?
What is happening?

COTN Prestige is both wonderful & difficult, Texasmine. Most Prestige begins low, increases & then begins to decay.
Having more than one Prestige type or even two of the same, changes all the others also.
Your 396 should begin to increase with time.
Diospolis requires Prestige Overkill. :)

Since our last post, the prestige has dropped 7 points because the propaganda has started to decay. I have 19 obelisks: should there be more?
Mark, I am really less than pleased. I enjoy a difficult scenario, but I am REALLY frustrated. As I said, this is my fifth try. Again, if the propaganda weren't decaying and I had be awarded all the prestige listed, I would have only been 4 points short of the win.....instead I'm at 764. Not winable since the obelisks have started to decay.

When I played, Diospolis, Texasmine, I built the Grand Obelisks as soon as I could. I did not really use them to win. I used them to keep my Prestige up for Max Educated. Others used Sphinx Statues outta bricks & saved the GO for the 1000 Prestige.
Did you read the original thread? Do you understand the Stone Cutter Trick? Did you see my solution? :)
PS ~ Game save, please. Open a thread in the Game Help & Strategy section & post it.
[This thread will be edited down in 24 hours. Solutions should not be posted here.]

Yes, I did. I have multiple Sphinx, large and small. I built the pyramids (one of each) and let the stone cutters take care of them. Then I destroyed all the cutters, erected the obelisks, rebuilt the cutters.
At the very beginning....I mean the very beginning, I did not have either a priest, mortuary, or tomb for Pharaoh, so I have carried a -5 prestige all through the game. Am assuming from your reply that 19 obelisks is the correct number, yes? And they are supposed to grow to a total prestige points of 609?
CoN crashes when I am on line, so I'll have to leave trying to send it to you until tomorrow....have to pick up the offspring.

I have two of each. This image carries a Prestige of 1002. My win screen has no pyramids complete.

Yes!

This is your claim & not mine, Texasmine. There are many ways to win Diospolis. You said you got close. Get closer. More is ALWAYS better! I do not need your game save now.
You have seen how the game works, if you didn't know before. You can't simply add separate potential Prestige amounts together, cuz the game doesn't work that way. Please reread my previous posts in this thread. I believe your philosophy is wrong. You need to plan for much more Prestige than 1000. Then release your Stone Cutters. You won't be able to add afterwards, cuz you will be fighting immediate decay & Prestige averaging. Prestige is not spreadsheetable. It does not add. Each Prestige thingie affects others. :)

FINALLY! Fortunately, on try #6, I saved the city after all goals completed except reaching the 1000 prestige. Got to 1002, but no win screen because I hadn't noticed loss of one of the world sites because of not meeting commodity upkeep. At least I didn't have to start from scratch. Anyway, scenario accomplished with pyramids and lesser sphinx galore.
Thanks for the encouragement.

Here is a copy of Diospolis XX, as it is a ssa.file it must be placed in the campaign folder, and then played as "other campaign".
As I do not have the Alexandria campaign installed on my computer I do not know it if Diospolis XX will work if you have the Alexandria installed on you compiuter.
