Use the Manage Attachments below the reply window to post files and iamges to the board.
Bad news, your Ti-200 is a DX8 card. I may not be compatable with the Caesar IV demo which requires DX9 hardware.
Do you know if your card supports Transform & Lighting (T&L or TNL)?
If not that could be your problem.
How old are your drivers?
Post a copy of your dxdiag.txt flie using the manage attachments button.
Hi i dont know if it supports that but the newest driver update of nvidia 4 was from 2003 Desember. But my nvidia has shader 1.1 so yes it should have that T&L since it play heroes 5, Prince of persia 3, just fine but i cant understand why i got the menu and when I go ingame i just get a black screen.
It is not my graphic because if it was my graphic card i could not get the game running at all.
There has not been made any update since 2003 desember for my nvidia 4.
But in the system requirements it says 64 MB video card (with Hardware T&L including Pixel Shader 1.1 or higher support)
and i have 128 megabits memory.
ohhh and by the way i could not go ingame with nvidia geforce 6 either on my other comp I think there is something wrong with the demo. And yes all my drivers are updated including directx 9 from june.
Ok heres my dxdiag.txt for my nvidia 4 and my 4 year old comp
I hope you can help me now guys

Your graph-driver is 3 years old
your sound-driver is 4 years old
would be a good idea to update those! :D
Already updated for 3 years there havent been any update since. They dont do update for old drivers anymore they only care about new update for new drivers just like we only care for new games

I think he's saying, for his particular video card, that IS the newest driver.
Edit: I haven't had a look at the requirements for C4 yet, but I'm guessing that maybe his video card is just too out of date?
so i dont missing anything on my hardware.
well when im finishing studying i gonna work for a game company and some years later i gonna own a game company and then i gonna make a game better than caesar.

Phil is correct. You can use the new nVidia drivers for the Geforce 4200 without problem, I've been doing it myself on my old pc.

Keep in mind that that the Ti-4200 is a DX7 card and it may have problems with the demo. The game requires DX9 compliant video cards.
Im sorry there is something very wrong with the demo Nvidia 6 and 4 does not works not either of my 2 computer works with caesar. Well Well Thanks for your help guys.

I guess I'll have to be getting a new video card every year. Which I won't be able to do with my disability check. This really sucks. Here is my DxDiag.txt.

I will also say you are NOT correct (and sorry Imhotep you as well).
I was actually just clarifying what the poster had said Phil :D ....I know absolutely nothing about nVidia, but I was under the impression that the "ti" series of cards was rather outdated.

I guess I'll have to be getting a new video card every year. Which I won't be able to do with my disability check. This really sucks. Here is my DxDiag.txt.
Demands on video cards change very quickly, and video cards are probalby the most rapidly evolving piece of computer hardware on the market.
Gamers are always wanting more and more and the video cards are just changing to meet the demand.
I know people get upset when I say this, but unfortuntely it is just a plain fact: If you buy a lower end video card you can expect to replace it more often and much sooner than if you buy a topend card.
I realize people can't always afford the best topend card but that doesn't change the facts. Most video cards aren't good for more than 3-4 years tops anyway before they fall too far behind the curve. Right now my Radeon 9800 Pro is probably reaching the end of its useful service after three years. I might be able to squeeze another year out of it but I know I'm eventually going to have to upgrade.
IT's all the part of the joy of computer ownrership, the upgrades never end.

Those of you that are still getting a black screen on starting up the demo may want to reset your monitor's refresh rate back down to 60Hz and see if that will help.
Another mehod to try is as follows:
Restart
Go to START>RUN and type in DXDIAG, then press ENTER
Choose MORE HELP tab (last one from the left)
Press OVERRIDE button, and for OVERRIDE VALUE - put down 100 no matter what your fresh rate is. 100 is the maximum value. If your monitor supports only 75Hz at certain resolutions - it will use 75Hz, and not 100Hz, so do not worry.
You can still change your desktop refresh rate by going to into ADVANCED DISPLAY properties, it will not affect your fresh rate in games.
Now launch the game that was giving you a black screen.
