How is everyone is enjoying the demo? It's looking like October will be what I am calling Return to Rome Month. I still have not upgraded my system to run any new games including Caesar IV. I am very happy playing with my XBOX 360 so I have been very patient about upgrading. I only wish Caesar IV and Medeival Total War 2 were coming out on XBOX 360 :)
Anyways I am looking at about 3K out the door for the new BOX up here in Canada. Not the top of the line CPU or Video card but one notch down so Intel E66 and an ATI X1900XTX. I will probably end up buying before the X1950 becomes available and it will probably be too costly to justify anyways. With that said I am looking forward to playing Caesar IV and Rome Total War (I missed RTW because of low end specs.)
I have been away from the forums and the PC for most of the summer. Work has me quite busy these days but I did manage to take a break yesterday and hunker down for some Children of the Nile. A friend of mine was telling me how the camera was not as good as Children of the Nile but I just chalked it up to the demo or perhaps my friend wasn't up to speed with the controls etc. He always mentioned how when the game was set to slow speed the animations were not correct and people were sliding around the map. Sounded like an early demo bug but like I was saying I haven't been reading the forums so I have no idea.
Just wanted to know how the demo is performing on todays hardware. Buddy of mine is running it on a 3Ghz Prescott and he says it's smooth as glass with his X1900XTX. Is Caesar IV working ok with onboard sound or should I be adding a Sound Blaster Xfi or whatever the hell they call it now. God I really wish I could be playing the demo now. You know your system is out of date when you can't even load certain web pages LOL.
Counting the days now...
