Re: Is anybody here?

Hi Jytte, (and hi Yahya, nice to see you're still around :D ) I recently dusted off my CotN Editor, after my son first discovered his love for egyptology and then my old CotN scenarios. After I playsd through Realms of the Gods with him, I thought about patching it up to Alexandria, enabling the gre...

Hmm, I guess it depends on how this is handled. It should still be a medieval city builder, not a fantasy city builder. I wouldn't mind having a problem getting foreign traders to visit because of a rumor of a dragon sitting in the woods nearby, but I don't want dragons frolicking over my map.

regarding religion, I liked the system in CotN best. The gods did not intervene directly, and worship was for making the citizens happy, not the gods. Festivals raised the mood, and the ability to worship in temples and shrines diminished the negative effects from fears of missed harvests, or illnes...

Hi! Yeah, the numbers never add up. The bigger your city gets, the larger the difference will grow. I stopped giving too much attention to it, since I just assumed it isn't calculated correctly. But you may be right with your idea. Or maybe it's the minimum amount you have to provide so that the wor...

Alternatively, it would be somewhat realistic to "upgrade" your ressource harvesting buildings when the ressource runs out to renew the source. Dig the mine deeper. Build a new crane in the quarry to get to those higher stones. Build sturdier boats for fishing further down the river. Give your woodc...

From one of the forum threads linked above:

I have to agree on that last part, this really does feel a LOT more like a Societies sequel than a "true" Sim City game.

- oh, the irony...

Yes, I figured it would be best to upload them somewhere where already other scenarios are saved and collected. It's hard enough for fans to find their way to the user created scenarios, I think they shouldn't be spread around the internet on top of that. That said, if you have another server that c...

Got it yesterday for my birthday and a little kids free time on top, so I played for a few hours. I think it has a few fine features, like raising different citys in the same region and trading with yourself (or other players you can invite), which is something I'd like to see in MM, too ;) The poss...

Hi and welcome to CotN! Unfortunately, you can't upload files here anymore. Most people around here try to collect those which are left and post them at heavengames.com, so this is also where most people will search for new scenarios I guess. But wherever you upload it, be sure to leave a thread wit...

I'm so glad someone's still playing and thanks for the feedback! I hope being insane now is fun, since that was the entire purpose for making this scenario ;) :p

Hi!

Thanks for your interest!
I luckily found several versions of it in my old folders, so I will try to upload the scenario on heavengames (since it isn't possible here anymore). I guess it will take a few days, though.

Since the view will be 2d isometric, it would be problematic to be able to build roads parallel to the view, since it could vanish completely behind buildings. With a fixed angle like this, you are pretty set on fixed road directions. I still hope that TM will one day go back to the CotN free 3d vie...

I'm not a fan of multiplayer, or the computer as enemy. I'd like the idea of you being the trade partner or even enemy of yourself, though. In early CBs like Pharaoh you had a city and initiated trade with trade partners. They had a certain amount of wares, if you needed more you were out of luck, w...

In one of the later SimCity games (3000, maybe?) you could start a map, design it, build on it etc, and then you could choose an adjacent map and build there too and make connections. You could make a giant waste dump city and get money from buying all the waste from neighbouring cities, which would...

It would be great if they make decoration models colourable. Like a bush where you can choose the colour of the flowers and/or leaves, or a well where you can change the colour of the stone, or a pavement where you can choose two or three different colours for the tiles and so on. Build one model, h...

Thanks to you all. I have uploaded it at heavengames now since this seems to be the go-to place for people looking for lost scenarios. It hasn't appeared yet, so I hope I did it all right. I don't have Sand Wars 3, sadly, though I think I have played it once. I seem to have erased several scenarios ...
