Alphabets used in SCS

The letters in SCS are supposed to be Simlish and nonsensical, but I happened to notice that the Cyrillic and Greek alphabets have shown up in a couple of places. Has anyone else noticed anything like this? (The Greek can actually be transliterated meaningfully as "Disco Dancing", incident...

Fiddler's Green [Romantic City, Alpine, Height Map]

So using the height map ( http://filebin.ca/2OsEe4Dm20Nl/Canvas256.zip ), I made an Alpine City, called Fiddler's Green, and I decided to aim it in the Romantic direction. Some shots from before the mood change. I'm really pleased with the island with its own university complex. :D (connected by sub...

Anyone still SCS-ing out there?

Hey all,

I went hunting for the Tilted Mill forums and was relieved to see they're still functioning, albeit in a different incarnation. Sadly several post attachments have been lost again too :(

Anyway, just waving a flag to see who all's still out there :)

And the industrial district mushrooms! Along with the rise of the Oil Refinery and other marvels of the industrial age, comes a complete re-working of all the roads into properly paved streets, and housing for the workers sprouts up like weeds.

Jasper's Valley expands a bit! A university campus has opened up, spawning some of the more intellectual pursuits in the town. Old-timers may grumble a bit about the pointy-headed intellectual kids, but for the most part, people take it in stride as their young ones can stay in the area and get a go...

Jasper's Valley [City Journal]

Founded by Old Man Jasper once upon a time, this idyllic turn-of-the-20th-century small town has a very typical cozy town feeling. With many of its citizens tending to the basics of agriculture as their parents and grandparents did before them, the addition of a brewery, while regarded with suspicio...

The eerieness of the city of Sim Lanka, whose spiritual and noncorporeal denizens now outnumber the physical in the latest census, has become fully evident in a city of near perpetual night, with spooky demonic statues in the centers of city intersections, and a plethora of haunted houses and shacks...

The city becomes more haunted by the day! Denizens of the town are now putting up haunted houses and shacks almost exclusively and the eerie fog is now a semipermanent part of their houses. Also, the Mayor authorized a graveyard to be constructed some distance away from the town, and a sign near the...

Ominously, the cottages that used to line the pictureseque avenue near the Hedge Maze are showing evidence of being haunted by ghosts and spirits. Might this be a sign of supernatural influence at work in Sim Lanka? Only those brave residents who stay in the town and even muster an effort to live al...

That will really put some life back into the forum.

I'm not sure, but I do know a lot of the mod posts have had their attachments reinstated, which was a real boon :D

Your cities are a certainly a sight to behold, especially considering that you aren't using any of the modded features. :) I've noticed a particular "housing block" formation consistent in them - I take it you've also played "Zeus: Master of Olympus" or "Pharaoh"? ;) Actually no :) It's a holdover ...
