those are beautiful, Julia... very nice work. I'm tempted to buy the game just to get a shot at them! I'd heard that there's a version of the game available on disc now... is there any truth to that? I looked at Best Buy but didn't find it. I hate downloading games. :/ ________ Ferrari F50 History

Tell me about this game?

So... I've read the promo material, but I am still not entirely sure whether or not to buy this game and try it out. Questions: I saw mention of controlling a full party of characters, but I also saw mention of using wasd to move. Can anyone elaborate on how you control your characters, etc? Is this...

It's not morbid so much as historically accurate. Life expectancies back then were not what they are now.

I do have the latest patch and updated drivers. I have a pretty decent machine (quad core 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8800 GT), so I don't think it's a matter of it being overloaded by the graphics... particularly when I don't have anything built yet.

Now it will go for a while and suddenly crash, but not often. It is always restartable and will not crash again for quite a while. I would leave the game running just to check it. Sure enough it will still crash but it is livable. At least I can play it and reload it if it crashes then continue. Th...

From what I have seen (I make no claim to be an expert), gates are formed just by leaving a gap in the wall. You click a spot and drag to where you want the wall to end - the ends of the wall look a bit different (they are taller, somewhat like a pillar) but you don't really see that until after the...

I just went back onto CotN and played Nekhen. Everyone keeps getting mad at me and my prestige fell because of Pharaoh's death. Can someone give me a step-by-step walkthrough for this level? I highly recommend playing through the tutorials... multiple times if need be. You can always use the + butt...

Nice layout but woah.. TOO MANY SHRINES :P Btw i meant shrines when i wrote temples lol. Well... you asked what has to be done to keep your people happy, and she answered. If you really want all of your people to be happy (within reason), find a way to cram in all those shrines. :) You can skip Set...

All 14 Shrines & a Dedicated Cult Temple to the Patron smashed together on Worship Row, smack dab in the middle of your city, on Hard Difficulty. This requires at least 2 Dedicated Tend Gods Priests, although it required 3 Priests pre-v.1.3. v1.3 also made it much easier to substitute Temples, but ...

Don't feel bad. I did it myself with an older machine. I try to think of those when I build the map now, but sometimes I just get carried away. So, go ahead and delete everything, and don't worry you can't delete resources, just certain decorative sprites. My machine can handle it, just not my brai...

1) How do you know the vagrant was the one who moved out & not just an angry farmer? Because it can happen very early in the game - before they'd even have a chance to get unhappy. :) I've had it happen within the first year on normal, with plenty of food and medical buildings up and running. I've ...

I'm not a big "sprite" fan. when i play i build up some farms and brick makers and then I run around the map deleating all usless stuff that just confuses me. Oh, I believe you on that part! I haven't gotten vagrants from deleting farmhouses - that wasn't what I was trying to describe. I was just saying that my vagrants seem to come from the farming population, even if I keep the farmers happy.

I get vagrants from farmers any time I set down too many farms, it seems... almost every time I've looked at a vagrant, their family history was villager-->farmer-->vagrant. it goes like this: set down 50 farms (say only 26 are supported) get 27/50 farmers number balances - back to 26/50, but now I ...

Jimaaten - that's very similar to what I have been doing, typically. The only difference would be that I generally only have 1-2 servants more than I have nobles - I don't typically have one for every luxury shop. I also usually put down brickmakers and layers even if I get some bricks in the palace...

I tend to end up with 28-32 common shops by the end - but you're definitely starting with more than I typically do! I'm real curious to try this out... I've been through the easy/medium cities in the Grand Campaign, going to do the hard ones next.

3 entertainers! How do you keep them all happy with only 4 nobles? I've only been putting down 1 for my first 4 - they seem to starve otherwise. Does the bakery usually get built before the first harvest with the other brick using buildings? I bet with 12 brickmakers it does. How far back from the f...
