I restarted the city and have 23 workers and jobs and the flea market as my only venue. I still have sad sims and even a few angry ones. I know in basic mode they get angry faster but so is this just normal? Perhaps I am overrating.

Are your venues close and easy access for the sims (and for all of them?). Try to keep them close to housing or work. Also try to keep the amount of venue space in line with how many citizens. If you have too many venue spaces its not only a waste as an expense, but also doesn't guarentee the sim g...

Your plan Azeem has greatly helped me with money but the happiness is still a problem. Even with the flea market, a tea house and four altars. I am still getting a couple of unhappy sims.

True and the same with the Altar and Gazebo. Could it also be I am building too fast? Usually I start off with one monastery and a few farm houses. Three communal farms, two dairy barns, and an elder council.

And what can be done about the constant sad and angry citizens I am getting? I make sure I have enough venues for everyone but it seems like they never get a chance to go to them or just stand in one place for like three hours and then try and go to them when they are closed.

I am playing the original as Destinations seem to focus more on tourism and I am not interested in that. And yes, I am making a society in which the mjority of buildings are under the contemplative society. So highest value will be spirituality at 200+ and my second highest is usually knowledge at a...

For game purposes yes since everything needs to be harvested on time. But vegetables require more than wheat and barely. Wheat and Barely are the easiest to grow and get for nobles. But vegetables are more difficult and harder to grow for nobles. Considering the climate of egypt it is no wonder why ...

Expensive in that it cost the most to grow for nobles. It states in game that the reason why vegetables yield the least is because it is the most difficult to grow and thus cost the most time and upkeep for nobles and farmers. Wheat is the easiest to grow and barely is inbetween which is why they ar...

In COTN Thoth is the creator it seems when referencing his patron cities. But I think it switches between thoth and Ptah in the game.

Some more trivia, depending on the area (period) of ancient Egpyt you belonged too, Thoth is considered the creator of the Universe. In others, Ptah is said to be the creator and in most it is Ra (Ra-Amun) who is the creator.

Mine too ;) The Egyptians called him "Djehuty". "Thoth" is originally how the Late Egyptian form of his name ("Tehoteh") was written by the Greeks. There's a bit of all but useless trivia for you ;) Yep and he is also the greek and roman equivalent to Hermes and Mercury. Thoth is said to be the ins...

I once did a Veggie Lab to try to make the health alerts go away. Didn't happen. Two conclusions 1) Health alerts are basically random events to make sure we have proper health services for people to goto. When we get one, everyone runs to hospital/apothecary & each only can handle so many people. ...

Who is your favorite deity?

I have been on these forums before but my account must of been deleted I suppose. I think this question was asked about six years ago but I must ask again since there are some new faces. Who is your favorite Egyptian deity? Mines is Thoth, god of writing, wisdom, knowledge, the moon, and magic :D .

I usually start with 3 and I end up with 4 or 5. Nobels are only useful for farming and educated workers, if you want a big society you will need tons of nobels. I only stay in one area of the map and rarely move to the other areas, so my cities are usually pretty small.

I notice the wives only get bread and barly and rarely vegetables from a bakery even if they are prepared. Having most of your nobles farm vegetables is a great idea since it is the mostly costly and least productive of all of the crops and it is important to your people's health.

Thanks for the help everyone. Yes, I built the barge landings correctly and they have barges at them. There should be no problem at all but as Tinkerbell said the map is poorly designed which it is. I have moved on to the next scenario so no need to worry anymore.

Game not detecting barge landings

I am on the very first scenario for Alexandria. I am currently quarrying basalt for my temples. My temples are on the other side the nile and the basalt quarry on the other. The game keeps telling me that there are no local barges to transport the basalt but I have at least 8 barge landings (three o...
