I thought harvest or crops first but it doesn't quite fit. The Nile/inundation? Doesn't fit either, but it does somehow remind me of something from COTN.

I hadn't really considered amazon before since I'm in Europe, but your link made me check amazon.co.uk and it seems they have it there too :)

I miss this game a lot, my copy was ruined a few years ago and I haven't been able to find a new one since.

Many of the "guests" on other messages boards are usually search-engine bots and such. I don't know if that's true here or not though...

Help direct shopping patterns? Sorry, wrong game. Our people decide & not you. However, you decide where to place the shops. It's true that the they decide and we don't, but it's still annoying that they're so stupid, or maybe irrational is a better word for it. Perhaps not all that annoying from a...

MAX-1: It's possible that there was some food left from the last harvest, I don't remember now. I had 2 granaries and maybe 6-8 bakeries when that happened but I doubt that was the problem since the bakeries weren't all full after the refill at 7:20. Oh, and the granaries were both empty. MarkDuffy,...

6) Food that is left in a threshing area at harvest, and if bakeries and graineries are empty or not to maximum capacity after harvest is food that was not taxed, accounted for. Why is it that this still happens sometimes/often (food is left in the threshing area and little or no food goes in the g...

I like these suggestions :) Also hope the children and women won't have as masculine/adult facial features in Caesar IV as they do in CotN, and I really hope they won't make give workers/"poor" people those awful postures. If you're going to be working with your body (as most of them did) you *bette...

Well I was "female under 20" when I first found and started playing CB games, if that counts :p

Hehe The fact that you can't get newer security updates is bad of course (really bad), but I *really* don't like the idea of something changing all kinds of settings without asking, probably fetching all sorts of information from my computer (much like spyware :p ), and possibly screwing the install...

I'll do that, thanks for the tips. (Though I'll try it without installing SP2 first and only get it if I have to.)

And thanks for the help everyone. :)

Thanks, that explains it. I'd never heard of "dxdiag" before (though I'd seen it mentioned here a few times) so I was wondering if it was something that came with the game or if it came with windows or what it was. :p

I've seen that before Keith (and I thought it would've been quite obvious, as I mentioned something about that in the first post... )

Likely to work?

Realise this must be annoying so I apologise in advance. (Also not sure if this is the right forum to ask in, or if there even is a good forum for that sort of thing.) I'm thinking of having someone get me this game for Christmas, but I want to be sure it'll run first. Demo runs fine, I have a stron...

I hardly ever post at forums because i usually have very little new or informative to say. (This post being a good example of how i don't have anything useful to add.) One of my reasons for joining any forum is to get the "new post" icons since they make reading the posts much easier (for me, perhap...

India would be nice, other asian cultures would also be interesting, as would meso-american ones. Nothing new to add, just wanted to say that I like the ideas people have so far.

Absolute favourites are the Myst games, other favourites are the city-builders (most "sentimental" games for me since CIII was the first game I ever loved playing, sadly, I've never been able to play Cleopatra, couldn't afford it when it first came out and have never been able to find it since, and ...
