I haven't visited the site in quite a while and was surprised to see that the latest news item is from June 24th!

What is Tilted Mill up to these days? Hows CoTN? Any plans for it, like add ons, updates??

Just wondering.

I think it is a wonderfull learning experience, for those who like that kind of thing. I work on computers, and cars. On both you find the people who just want it to work and don't even check the oil, or CPU fan, and those who want to know what every bolt does. I think understanding the computer ins...

I beg to differ. I have been building and still build my own PCs, but reality is that item to item a store bought unit today can come out a better deal. The only reason I keep doing mine is because I like to select certain components (brand, etc) and because I enjoy the process. On my latest, I went...

Most (all?) DVD players I know off can read CDs. At the price of DVD Roms these days, it is crazy to replace with a CD rom... Even the lowest computers these days come with DVD rom, most with DVD ROM CD RW. My worry about DVD releases is that the games keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger... it...

I fell into playing Guild Wars, which is the very first online game I actually got addicted to. For almost two months didn't do anything but that. Then just re-did my comp, and found my CoTN and some others on a stash and installed it again, but haven't played much. Busy loading my CD collection int...

Between the lines... please... because we don't know how to spell, do we? Unfortunately there are parents out there that...

Well, Phil, the intent was not offensive. It was said in jest, thats what the smiley at the end is supposed to indicate. And I never thought of that word as "dirty", for 24 years in the USA, but hey, who knows what word will "upset" somebody. Apparently you can refer to "F@RT" and jerk but you find ...

To some of the thoughts brought up. There are several challenges. There are only so many ways to play baseball, basketball, car racing, etc. I am not surprised many of the sport games end up looking/feeling/tasting very similar. I have never been a fan of sports on video games. What is sad is when s...

Gee, Phil, you sound a little pissed... You can't let them get to you! I KNOW what ALL of you are saying and "I hear ya"! In my experiences you find the "types" rather quickly too. Us OLD "Fathers Against Radical Teenagers" (think you can figure out what I mean) run into THAT crow...

Watch TDC entirely too much, also the History channel...

I have not visited Egypt, but I have visited other piramids and ancient culture sites. I visited Chichen Itza, Tulum, and many of the sites around the Yucatan peninsula... that was a great trip! :D

Interesting AI dilema. Reminds me of those "rumba" vacum robots they sell now. They map the room as they go, so they "learn" their way around. Shouldn't CoTN constantly map the space so that as it learns there is a "covered" path it won't keep trying it? I would then age it so, after a while, it wou...

This is totally a blind shot here, but I would assume that it has to consider "covered" tiles on redraw. Every time you move it has to figure out what you can see or not see from your new position. And those tiles, although covered, are part of the list of items to be considered. So by eliminating t...

Another thing I like and support : any patch or fix should require an original CD check. Hey, why should anybody benefit from the fixes and support if they didn't buy the game? This is a very acceptable requirement that forces a CD check every now and then, when fixes become available. In the end, I...

Oh, I know! Yet, I truly believe some developers do add "cheat codes" tot he game to save some of those people who, lets say, can't find wood for instance to be able to still enjoy the game they paid money for. I also have seen cheat codes change the way some people play. For example, in Warcraft go...

I salute Jeff and Tilted Mill for not deleting the thread but allowing the conversation so far and listening. I am one of those that would rather not have the CD in the drive all the time. I think it is good for TM to know how we, the purchaser of their products, feel about these measures. Unfortuna...

I am moderator in a couple of Diablo 2 sites and, ugh... you have to have a lot of patience. Of course my own son plays a lot and has an active online personality so I get some of it at home as well. ;) There are also cute moments. Recently a guy sent me some items for the D2 site and in his email h...

The good old "what video card should I get" thread...

Hi everybody. It is not a problem, just a question, but seem mostly technical in nature. System : Intel P4 2.4Ghz with 512MB Ram, 60Gb HD, CD writer, DVD, etc. Currently I have an Nvidia FX5600 . Been considering an upgrade. Mostly play Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, CotN, not much into first person shooters...
