Great Choice!

BFG is the best brand to get Keith. They have lifetime warranties, so should you have the misfortune of another failure, you can RMA it to BFG directly and get a replacement. They are not too far from where you are, and you know how to reach me if needed as I have the exact same myself. Good Luck! ...

Not Quite

Since this thread was hijacked long before I first posted in it, and has gotten even worse, I must now address further. Note the following: Amun, this thread will be buried in a few days to a week, Drama like this comes and goes in waves/bursts, there are so many different personalities here that s...

Irony

I told some of you about my idea of writing about my adventures on the Nile, remembering some of the fun moments I had with you. I was hoping my little story and comments would have given ideas to other players of NO. I was going to tell what was behind my 10 boat quest, as some of you were wonderi...

Hypocracy

Fistleaf asked my opinion & I gave it, Kiya. It is a poll thread. Stop reading things into posts that are not there. I didn't say anything about there's only one way to play. That's your game & your ilk at CBC. Did Fistleaf in OP tell everyone how to play? He/she claimed that only minimalist is cha...

Has to be a conflict with something on your system then. PM me and we'll take this outside the forum and get it done. Do know getting this scheduled will be the most difficult part. I'm in Arizona, USA and am currently GMT-8 (as we don't change our clocks or it would be GMT-7). ...

Back Now

OK, here now. After going over your list all you need are THREE! Those being the first two and NvCpl. That is IT! So, run msconfig again, uncheck all not mentioned, click Apply, click Close. You will encounter a pop-up. Close any and all windows save that pop-up, then click the Restart button. You ...

Thanks for the link. Yes, Sega took over the TW projects just prior to the release of Rome, so that is not surprising. What is surprising is that they released a new game so quickly as I knew something was in the works, but last I heard it was still in Alpha stages. ;) Thanks also for the expla...

Notations

Too many variables. With any problems we need more precise details before we can help as well as a copy of the DxDiag of each user with a problem. Do know the following though. 1. The hard copies of the game due require patching before they will work. 2. If using Vista rather than earlier OS versio...

Clearer

Better though still not as things should be. One side note first though. Empire Total War? I'm a TW person as well and have not seen nor heard of that one, so am curious as I have Shogun, Medieval 1 and 2, and Rome as I also keep in touch and have not heard of this version. Is it done by the sa...

Ouch!

WHO was the IDIOT that told you to install Daemon Tools?! Get [Color="Yellow"] RID of it and I do mean OFF your system entirely! Reboot after doing so and then go to the MS downloads center and get a newer version of DX9. Your version is not new enough as it does not have all the needed files. Do m...

Correction

The problem is NOT with DX9, but DX10 not having all the necessary files. Also to download does NOT install it. You have to run/extract and then run the DX9 setup after that to install. If you downloaded and ran you missed the most crucial step as it was not updated if this was all you did. In-game...

Not Done but Will Get Back Later

Will get back to you as I'm not one to give up. Know there are more steps and it sounds as if you have something else installed on your system that might be conflicting. It's happened before and could be the case now and often back-up programs and other protection programs as you noted are ...

More to Try

Adding to what Mouse has noted, do know that Vista is a terrible resource hog. This is indicated by your pagefile usage, which means you have too much running in the background. I will address this in a bit though. Your system might have conflicts with the in-game movie files. You might need to rem...

More Needed

This sounds like either a corrupted registry or something I don't want to think about from what you've provided. Please provide your DxDiag file so we can confirm and possibly assist as without it there is little we can do.

Sincerely,
Phil

Additionally

Adding to what Keith and Rnett have said, audio drivers I agree, and the video drivers are a definite problem as they're faulty. I'd suggest the 175.19, the 182.08, and newer as well with no problems. Free space is a concern as are background programs as you have way too much pagefile use w...

More Needed

If your game is not pre-patched, you will need to get with D2D as they have modified versions and not the original game. If it is patched, it sounds as if your system does not meet the minimum requirements but this is only a guess. We need your DxDiag file to confirm and assist better, but know if ...

Reasons

Two immediate reasons come to mind. First being this happens if the game is not patched. If you have not patched you need to do so. If you have the other issue is all that comes to mind. That being that your system does not meet the minimum system requirements. This is just supposition though and w...

Helps

Don't feel alone as while I'm beyond being a student, I'm disabled, so understand perfectly. Your rig is not bad as I have a almost 8 year old Compaq myself with the same CPU and it's still going strong. What you need to do is open the case and look at the PSU which is inside where ...

Ouch!

Uh Keith, has it been that long since we had to deal with this?! Speaking as the nVidia enthusiast I can tell you that emulators programs will NOT work. Never has for C4, but also Anno 1701. The requirements are stated for a reason and believe me I know as I've had nVidia dating back to the TNT...

Notes

Some FACTS to take note of: 1. The editor NEVER was (or ever will be) "officially" supported. 2. Users were instructed to undo the files they altered to make the game temporarily work before patching. 3. You can try to undo the changes now (if you can remember) the alterations that ...
