Uhhh... help? Cannot log in.

Apologies if this is in the wrong place! So! Today I get an e-mail saying that my labourers are slavking. So I think "Wheee! Nile Online is back up!" And lo and behold, the site is available again. I try to log in. "Wrong email/password combination." Okay, so, maybe the site out...

It is really interesting that the first game I designed required 8mb of RAM. Not 8GB, but 8MB of Ram. Also required a whopping 16MB of Hard Drive space. The first game I ever programmed required 640K of RAM (or less; I never tried it on a machine with less) and about 800KB of disk space. Of course,...

Also if you tell the setup.exe's for both Pharaoh and Cleo to run in Win2000 compatibility mode, they should both install fine on any version of Windows including x64 Win7. :)

Yes, it would be fun to add some Pharaoh stuff into CotN, and it would be fun to add some CotN stuff into Pharaoh. I might have to make a couple backward-compatible scenarios for Pharaoh as well. LOL That'd be fun too! I still play Pharaoh a lot. When I'm not playing CotN, Quake II or the Diablo se...

I concur, gamester. :) In the absence of a true CotN II, I keep planning to put together some massive campaigns, for years now. One I want to make is Pharaoh II, which will reproduce all the scenarios and campaigns of Pharaoh in CotN. That's a big project, so I planned to release the different ages...

There's still a link in the News archive to the Usersets page as was: http://immortalcities.com/cotn/community/usersets.php That loads a page with the database error, but if you go to http://immortalcities.com/cotn/community/ you can go into the Usersnaps folder for the actual screenshots.

Yeah. The screenshots folder opens in a basic FTP-style folder view and you can view them, just not on the page with the captions. I guess something broke the database?

That's what I thought; I was sure they'd come back up at some point. It looks like the screenshots themselves are still there; the folder they're in loads, but the database queries or whatever that displayed them aren't working any longer.

This is cool, because you can place a brickyard next to a cult temple site, for example, and all the bricks in inventory will get put there, up to its maximum inventory level (which I believe is quite high, like 250 or so, but I am not sure). More like 700, I think, give or take. There was a thread...

I do that all the time. It's bad when you forget something big like a temple and you just don't have room IN the city, so your people have to walk miles to worship Ptah. LOL!

Sounds pretty much like how I do it, although my cities often grow more organically so you'll find outlying apothecaries and shrines here and there, and the occasional extra scribal home shoved in wherever the terrain allows! In cities like Men-nefer where the flood plain isn't contiguous I tend to ...

Even for a fairly large city, about 16-20 nobles, 25 educated workers is normally more than enough, especially if you don't need any military. On Normal Difficulty, 35 workers is just crazy. I don't know what I'd do with all those guys. :D I tend to fill 'em all up, but then I build big and often e...

The crazy thing is, I've played CotN ever since it came out and I have NEVER completed a Great Pyramid. LOL! However I'm like... 20 blocks of limestone away from it in Men-nefe...
