I have no idea what is wrong ... the game seems to load fine and I can place buildings... but no people ever show up to live in the city ... I can set the speed to normal, fast, slow .... it doesn't matter ... no people ... I've played all the previous Ceasar games and been very impressed with them ...

Oddly

In many ways I really like the current combat mode ... of having troops invade my city .... it's highly stressful and incredibly motivating to be able to deal with it IMMEDIATELY ... besides ... it occasionally allows for changes in a city that I might not be willing to make on my own ... but once t...

Say It Again !

this one bears some repetition....

The Romans Created Concrete!
It's important to thier architecture.
It's important to thier culture.
It's important to thier fans.
The Romans Created Concrete!

Say it with me ....

I just can't wait till I get me a second box ... I'm a gamer .. I GOTTA game or I'll just go crazy with boredom now and then .... so because of that ... I have a windows box the moment I get a second box I'll obviously have to setup a special station for just gaming as that's all I'll ever use windo...

go for it

game mods are good for the gaming community ... companies like LucasArts that don't seem to be intelligent enough to realize that fans building thier own little scenarios to play out aren't competing with them for business .... they're starving for more content than the parent company provides thier...

not updated ....

screw that! .. I want my **** NOW and I wanted it updated BEFORE I ASK !!! I agree it would be cute with the informers reporting to your advisor that makes regular trips up to the Senate building ... (which would be his job) ... but I don't think that should be linked to how up to date the game info...

Hmmmm

Now I know it's not really what everyone was thinking ... But what if your advisors were "Real Citizens" in your city .. they had lives and thier job was to advise you when needed. Meaning you needed something explained ... I agree there is nothing worse than a game that won't shut up and leave me a...

Precisely

A Patrician Lady would not do her own shopping. She would send out a servant to do it for her. I think the Patrician Class should have some sort of servants ... if TM wants to stay away from the slave issue that's cool. The weathy would still have servants. People they paid to do the little things t...

Hmmm

I see you're point ... if the player has to relinquish resources for these buildings it can be a hefty drain and they would expect that building to stay there until they destroyed it ... but if the citizens had a built-in desire to better thier homes they would need to purchase and provide the neede...

Imperial Decrees

I think that might be interesting ... it might be better to call them Imperial Decrees thought ... fits better than City Ordinances for a Roman game ... but yeah man ... excellent suggestion .. that's basically what the Senate was for deciding the laws of hte Empire and announcing it to the people ....

yeah yeah yeah ....

yeah Phil I know ... I had already looked through several of the topics here in the forums to see if anyone had discussed this yet ... and I believe people have already pointed out archeological studies showing that inns, taverns, and yes, food shops were around and common during the Roman era ... s...

Potential New Entertainment Venues

Ok, so for possible new Entertainment Structures that have at least some historical merit we have: Taverns (food, drinks, performers, gambling) Inns (food, drinks, lodgings) Food Vendors (tiny take-out only shacks) I'm guessing that others think this would be a fantastic addition to Ceasar4 or maybe...

Restaurants ?

I don't know when historically restaurants stared appearing. I do think this would be a fun and interesting addition to the game. While citizens would purchase food supplies for thier homes. Restaurants have always been considered a luxury enjoyed by members of every level of society that could affo...

Pet Peeve!

Ok, something I forgot to mention earlier that bothers me from some of the earlier games. I'd love to see MORE interactive road and garden placements. Entertainment forums that had to be placed over special road intersections and such. In Emperor there is a Fish Pond with Walkbridge. It would be coo...

Variant Idea ...

I like the idea of not quite knowing precise details while guiding the general direction, and letting the game surprise me. Games that surprise us are always the ones that we remember. Luxury Liquids for example come in many varieties. Wine, tea, mead, beer, coffee, fruit drinks, and milk are all Lu...
