What I did when I ended up with a high flood area that was slightly wider than I wanted was to set flood to high, then sample elevation a square or two inland from the edge of the river. Use a tiny brush, and slope settings so that you have a very small area of effect, and you can carefully nudge th...

Auto adjust... sounds like you're using a flat panel display over an analog connection? What's probably happening is that the game is using a different resolution (or the same resolution but a different refresh rate) than your Windows desktop. When the monitor detects the change, it changes it's geo...

Are you running dual displays? (or does Windows THINK you're running dual displays?) I had a similar problem, and it was because Windows had gone and extended my desktop onto the HDTV plugged into the second output and the TV was off. Took me a while to figure out why the mouse pointer wandered off ...

Playing at 1.0... I watched my bricklayer and a noblewoman butting heads for two or three seasons. Those two were out in the middle of a field, so they lasted longer. Some of the others that happened on a road/path would get bumped apart by someone else walking by or if they didn't hit square head-o...

If you're going to reinstall now, I'd try Win7 before XP 64... it's hard to find drivers for XP 64 now. Was never well supported, and even that dropped off after Vista came out (as the "official" 64-bit offering). Even as a long-time Microsoft-hater, I have to admit that the W7 install was pretty pa...

I think that E2200 you have is 64-bit... If you want to use all of your RAM, you'll need either Vista 64-bit or Win 7 64-bit (XP Pro 64 edition isn't really available/supported any more). You can get the Win 7 RC as a free download from MS right now if you don't mind the hassle of re-installing your...

It's probably more likely a problem with the river than a problem with your computer... I haven't had it CTD yet, but all the lockups I've had were due to some unknown problem with the river. You might need to drop back to another save that you know works (if you have one) and take a different appro...

oops... forgot to upload the save :( After looking at it some more, though, it looks like less of a pathfinding issue and more of a "what the heck is the game engine doing" issue. Normally the citizens are able to just walk right through each other, and the pathing depends on them being able to do s...

Ah... rats...

Would this have anything to do with the appearance of the 225x225 model? :)

Guess I'll try that one instead!

They'll do this on paths, roads, and in the middle of nowhere. They have no issues with access to buildings; they just get stuck in these traffic jams everywhere. Imagine two people walking facing each other on treadmills pushing on each other. That's what it looks like :P I can upload a save tonigh...

Severe pathing problem: stubborn citizens

I started noticing this issue last night. It might be related to the scenario I'm trying to play... It's a 400x400 map, but all I've built so far: palace 14 farms 14 shops 2 nobles brickworks bricklayer baker The dumb citizens keep walking into each other - straight head on - and will sit there tryi...

...but the one problem with it is that it gives you 100 slots right from the start. Here is a different version that only maxes out the number once you hit the prestige required for the normal max. (modifies both normal and hard difficulties) Don't unzip - just rename to *.dat and (after backing up...
