Romaq is back for the moment...

and here I am with The Box. *pets* Sorry, early adaptors. Heh... I'm considering getting 'The Box' for $20 USD from Walmart sometime. I'll just swap SC4 licenses around so I can give the spare SC4 Deluxe license to someone who is getting my old computer. And by the way, all of the whining, moaning ...

Or you could wait for the price to drop to $20 and be available for download, just like Caesar IV.

Excellent! Thank you. I'll see how to work this up into a very interesting military scenario.

I believe it is 48 weeks because it is MUCH easier to say 12 months * 4 weeks a month is precisely one year than anything else. We are covering a timeframe from roughly 500 BC to 300 AD. While it is certainly trivial to create a perpetual calendar and have it calculate what the real life dates were....

Proof of Concept

Thank you! Yes, I was hoping for something that would be as simple as possible as a proof of concept that worked right away to show the effect (or could be very easily built in time) without distractions. Then I could dissect it with a hack saw and use the remains to torment my cats! Er... sorry. I ...

"Algore" Why am I not surprized you are a dittohead. You are welcome to believe what you wish. But for the point of the message thread, it appears BP has their logo on the petro pumps (and people still use petroleum) AND BP's logo is on factories generating polutants (which they do) in addition to ...

Now all we need is someone brave enough to attempt the following: 1) Gaul skirmishers enter point A and attack something 2) After two weeks (is that a reasonable gap?) from the start of attack, a Roman cav unit appears at point A 3) The moment the cav unit appears, all units are told to run. Both un...

I believe you have many valid concerns, but at the same time, I think some of your concerns are partially ill-concieved. Perhaps, but I try really hard to fake surprise when people are pointed out for acting like... well, people. I don't have a problem with BP in SimCity Societies so as long as the...

Regarding any presumed 'independence' of Tilted Mill from any other company... Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess. I expect to be well paid. I'm in it for the money. USUALLY all it takes is a big enough check. Everyone has a price, and the cost isn't alway...

most people would ignore it if it wasn't pushed in their face ;) I tend to ignore things that ARE pushed into my face. Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something. Do I remember incorrectly the quote, "We are not going to make judgements about the city you build?" And yet, if you don't build 'BP Logo Clean Energy, do you not get punished for it? Is that not the whole point of 'punishment'? If you do not follow a certain path, there are consequences? If you do ...

http://www.gran-turismo.com/ is painstakingly detailed with real logos. You see the ads that are a part of real racing. An interesting aspect to Gran Turismo was that "the game contains no damage-modeling due to licensing agreements prohibiting car damage" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turism...

I'm still of two minds about SC:S as well. I need a better idea of gameplay, the demo would help. I might preorder it anyway just for kicks. CU won't be out for a LONG time to come, and I enjoyed my $20 Caesar IV well enough. Call it $70 for two games worth about $35. I think I can do the write-off ...

Wacking an honest non-exploit user in an effort to snag a cheater is... not good. At some fine-grain tuning point, I'd as soon let cheaters pass. If it's a standalone game, it doesn't matter. If it's a contest, a review of high scorer's cities would be in order ANYWAY, and a 'cheat' would be plenty ...

Halloween Special: Gross Texture Maps!

I wanted to create something special to upload to TM as replacement textures for plazas... gross textures for your Halloween enjoyment! I've worked out the details, and I'm comfortable that *IF* I create something in particular, I can make a plaza out of it. Unfortunately, I don't have the skill for...
