Even if it's not the best executed game, it will be so refreshing to play something of this cross genre. The idea of Guild meets Rogue type play meets majesty is awesome. :) I am so glad someone finally decided to make a game like this. It's got the elements I've been craving from all the genres I ...

I'm trying to figure out where you're going with your reply to me...I did say I hope they do well with it. I also said I'll reserve judgment until I've tried it. I'm not going to, however, sound like they stopped short while I was following them. ;) I can't gush anymore at games. I like them, or don...

Good luck to TM in their beta work, and good luck beta tester hopefuls who've applied. I can only hope that those that do get chosen do a better "job" than many I've seen in past betas...I think we all know those people; the ones who cry foul if there's a wipe (mmo reference, of course) or just play...

I'm not a bandwagon jumper-oner...or whatever you want to call it. I will of course wish them luck (yeah, I've been a member of the forums for a little bit and just now getting to this post... :p ). It will be interesting, indeed, to see how it all pans out. I'm going to hold my speculations until s...

There was a church in every town, but a schoolhouse?! Whats that? The only people than could read were monks and maybe nobles, all of them teached by members of their own class at the monasteries or courts. As a point of order, you'll notice I used / to divide up the uses of the "multi-purpose town...

I found it interesting that some of the numbers there are way out of kilter with historical evidence. The author said the numbers were based largely on the 1292 census of Paris...? That's hardly an exemplary representation of rural communities. Except during times of civil war, that was a fairly saf...

Azeem! Couldn't have said it better myself! If it's a city builder, it'll end up on my computer and played here and there, regardless of who makes it. Hey....I have Apple and Microsoft products on my computer. I like Hershey's syrup nice and hot on my ice cream, while I prefer a tall, cold glass of ...

Yeah...unfortunately, I tried all their tricks too... No go on that one. It's a fresh install of Vista, as well. I'm not going to uninstall and reinstall the OS because I have several hefty commercial software packages and I'd hate to have one of them not let me re-activate without buying the softwa...

Update... The previous was with patch 4. With patch 5, I don't even get that runtime error... just a "The program has stopped working" general Vista error.

Vista 32-bit run problem

I've tried every fix listed here, and some not... I've purchased what's considered one of the best registry cleaners, uninstalled and reinstalled the game at least 5 times (what a nightmare THAT is!), running as administgrator, in xp sp2 mode, and even tried the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE fix offered for ot...

Yeah...it's the autosave... after about 10 successful autosaves in a row for me, the game starts crashing out. If I load from an autosave position, I get about 10 successful autosaves and it crashes the moment it tries to autosave again. (for me, that is, running on: AMD 64 X2 5600+, 4gb mem, XP/SP3...

You should also make sure that you've updated your sound and graphics drivers before updating DirectX. It could be any of a number of things causing the problem, but yes...the exact error will help immensely. If the error occurs because of DirectX, that's not exactly CotN's fault...

I'd rather see something other than "Mediterrainean" for the next civ/city builder. Yes, it was the cradle of all civilizations centuries ago. But it's been done...to death. No, Greece hasn't been done to death, but it's next door to Rome (which has been overly done). Their cultures, though not iden...

heh Not-Tink chiming in here too... I play my whole game by ear. Once a certain style starts to develop, I run with that. I just keep an eye on food stores, try not to overbuild, and let the gods sort the rest out. I can play up to medium difficulty on most cb or strat games that way. Won't ever get...
