Someone knocked the ranked 1 squatter out of their top spot so I expect a lot of folks will go immortal in short order. I've been hanging around the top ten for a couple months now and will go immortal as soon as I hit #1. I still don't have one of the quest items, but I don't need to hang around to...

Howdy folks. No CD here yet. Hoping my computer is up to speed for this test. I think the graphics card just snuck under the wire, and I'm about at the limit as best I know.

Looking forward to the testing. :)

EDIT: What's this .NET thing you're going on about?

It's possible the numbers weren't provided ahead of time to help prevent gmaers from concentrating on the numbers rather than the experience. In my opinion, approaching the game with a "I need X item which means I need Y bricklayers or papyrus makers" is missing part of the point of COTN. It would m...

Another reason folks might be inclined to move from hunter/gathering to farming is that, esp. in the case of the Nile flooding, planting farms is a more reliable and predictable source of food than going out and hunting. There's a chance that herds may be over-hunted, or may migrate or something els...

I've found that I build laborers in sets of four. 4, 16, 32, etc. Since four are needed to drag a sledge, it makes sense to have at least that many, and a couple to spare. As for overseers, I think multiple overseers on the same job moves it along faster. I had two overseers overseeing construction ...

I don't really see that as gallows humor, though. Planning for the next life is a big deal, and your pharaoh's tomb should be his focus. :)

Easter eggs in the game

So, I was playing the third tutorial last night, and I built my shipwright...

...and the shipwright's family name is Zizzahotep.

Clearly a tip of the hat to game music composer Keith Zizza. :)

Anyone else found easter eggs like this? What other COTN personnel appear in the game?

If you want a really honest opinion, ask the beta testers. We truly spent much more time on the game than any of these reviewers. The NDA binds much of what we say, but not our opinions of the game. The only problem with that is some folks may not see us beta testers as the most objective people in...
