I'm working on a program to help with mod creation while I wait for the patch. I figured I would hold off until the known problems were fixed.

System, System.Collections and System.Collections.Generic are Visual Studio .NET framework libraries, the TM Library is SCSLIB.dll The easiest way is to open up Visual Studio, create a new project and add a reference to the SCSLIB.dll library and add all the scripts as well. Then use the object brow...

This line: <FileAdd name="Data\Graphics\Textures\interface\portraits\S C5BP_BusStops" /> is missing the file extension. Should probably have .png at the end. One thing that might be a good idea is to use you initials or something instead of the SC5 text, that way there is less of a chance that you w...

I ran some tests and here is what is happening. If you have a custom texture file in the install directory and one in the mod directory. The install directory wins. If you have two or more in the install directory the oldest file wins. If you have two or more in the mod directory the oldest file win...

Sounds like the gamestop has the same problem I had with the texture not showing up if other mods are in the game. Try removing the other textures from the cultural graphics set directory and see if the gamestop works. I remember I had a problem with the white blocks for the ninja's too. I can't rec...

It is one of the regular frat house game buildings, I just made a copy so that if could easily be replaced without affecting the mod, if a way to create new buildings ever became available. Sorry for the confusion. Everything in the mod are modified versions of the original game components.

Here you go, here is a link to the files. They aren't in any directory structure, just the files themselves. http://www.dmm-creations.com/downloads/DMMFratHouseFiles.rar Also, if you do run the installer, all the files have the prefix DMM, except for the script. But it has DMM in the script filename...

DMM Frat House Mod

I'm going to go ahead and post a link to my Frat House mod. This is a college frat house which has an activated ability to send out streakers. Visitors can get sick(from all the partying) and ocassionally a visitor can turn into a streaker. (drank to much) http://www.dmm-creations.com/downloads/dmmf...

Vista likes to do things differently. I'm running on XP, I just can't tolerate the slow performance I get in games when I run Vista. I assume the game takes that into consideration though (The directory structure), but probably wasn't reflected in the customization docs.

I worked on this awhile this morning. I did manage to completely break SCS with my attempts, so I feel I accomplished something. What I was attempting to do was pretty much what Alex mentioned above. I added a new metric but I also figured I would add a new catalog type as well. Once the game...

That is pretty much what it looks like is happening. I also see something strange when adding roads as well. It looks like the compiler is ignoring the mod directories. The roads display if they are in the install directory, but not in the modding directories.

Here is a list of directories that I used for my custom venue. Maybe this will help. You probably won't need all of them, but the information might be a helpful reference for others. You don't need to modify the original game files, copy and rename the existing file, then add your mod info and remov...

I've been able to take a Frat House, turn it into a Venue, add the ability to make people ill. (Drunk college students) Then added a script ability to send out streakers and every once in awhile a visitor becomes a streaker. I still want to make it so that police will arrest the streakers if they ca...

Texture conflict with cultural graphics effects

I created a mod which uses a custom texture. I created the xml file for the cultural graphics effects and as long as I either place the xml file in the install directory location or I place the file in my all users directory location and I don't have any other custom texture mod file in the cultural...

I took a Frat House which is a home and turned it into a Venue. So yes, it is doable. You just have to change the structure of the xml file to use the tags of a Venue.

One thing that might help a bit is when you are done creating your xml file, double click it and Internet Explorer should try to display it. If any of your 'tags' are not correct it will usually complain at you. At least that would be a quick way to rule out some problems before you start the game. ...
