i'd like to add that i bought this game about half a year ago, and i still haven't been able to get it working. if i was as tightly-wound as most gamers, no doubt i would have gone postal by now. i certainly hope i'm just over-looking something this time, because at this rate the game will be obsole...

Oh what I really would desire is a much larger Regional area to develop in. C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SimCity™ Societies\Data\XMLDb\Game\Random Map open RandomMap.xml in notepad and change the map size.. as you can see from mine, i've changed the default map size from 256 to 512, but i would...

1) Update gets made and sent off to EA for approval. 2) EA does vigorous testing to find various problems with the current build. 3) If no problems were found, the update gets released. Otherwise, update gets sent back. Go to step one. fair enough, but if the testing is so vigourous, why was the or...

i give it a seven.. when it's working..

really though, since we haven't seen much of a patch yet, and the game continues to do absolutely ridiculous things unabated, it doesn't deserve much more than a 4. i haven't been this frustrated by a game in ages.

poor testing, poor support.

Especially if it applied (i'm just dreaming here, of course) to individual zones, so maybe part of your town is the ultra-elite wealthy, with Cyberpunk roads, and fancy cars, but in the poor part of town, it's very Authoritative, with dirty streets.. etc :) that would be amazing. allowing multiple ...

and i don't think Dubai is going the disappear off the map anytime soon (direct contradiction of the first quote) there is absolutely nothing contradictory.. brush-up on that reading comprehension. Your argument as best as I can tell is that Dubai will become a wasteland, that each individual who h...

have you tried moving the window to see if there is a pop-up behind? i've had problems with pop-ups not popping all the way up with other installs, and it can take forever to figure it out, because one has a tendency to end unresponsive tasks rather than minimizing them.

meh, it's worth a try.

does anyone else think that it's a tad silly to be announcing the expansion before the game is even made playable for everyone.

some people have been sitting around for over three months with a broken game.. why are we talking expansion packs?

I am not even going to consider responding to your last point because it doesn't make sense. i don't think that i can simplify things further.. my original post concerned excess. dubai is an example of excess. what's the trouble? I feel that you have realized that the point you were originally tryi...

when i was using a no-cd crack, the game would always crash at "painting terrain". once i reinstated the original .exe, everything worked fine.

It looks more or less like a big elaborate playground for the well-to-do or people with too much time on their hands, a place to indulge in pointless oppulence. hear hear. I just know that when someone with wealth and power sees their future threatened, they will overcome that obstacle to perpetuat...

What you seem to overlook is man's ability to overcome obstacles. ah, i see where we differ.. my opinions are influenced by our past track record, whilst yours are based on hope for change. i am aware of the general apathy that permeates the vast majority of societies, while apparently you aren't. ...

How many people can one planet support in reasonable conditions? 10 billion? 100 billion? many experts have suggested that we have already exceeded carrying capacity, while others pin the number a bit higher, but obviously there are many variables to be considered when estimating carrying capacity,...

mprovancha, firstly, what's with the hostility? if you want to engage in debate, that's just fine, but to hurl insults whilst spewing this nonsensical garbage that clearly comes from a mind uneducated on the matter is both unreasonable and infantile. quasi-political? call it what you like, but I pre...
