Hi! I think Tink was right. The amount of rotting food raised as the amount I stored in granaries grew. when I exported most of it and there was few food in the granaries, the spoilage got way smaller. I didn't change anything else, import was high with luxshopkeepers paying for the ressources all t...

I have the version from steam, honestly can't tell which version that is, but I guess it's the newest. As soon as the scenario is tested (it's still playable), I will upload it with a warning, and you can tell me if it's happening to you too. Until then, you might try a testmap like this: Make a sma...

I hvae to apologize. it was *not* due to the imported reeds. My reed plants still break when I don't import any reeds.
My next guess is that they break due to high floods... Anyway, they all are already broken again, even when I deleted the import site.

rotting food

As you all know, there is a stat in the harvest report how many food units rotted in the previous year. I'd like to know what food is rotting there. In my city, it was definitely not some of the threshing area, since this was all distributed. I also had food imported from two sites, but I think this...

Yeah, the second resource is papyrus rushes, and I import them too. All of them, btw, so I don't know whether they would regrow or not. And yes, that's a lot of micromanaging :D remember someone demanding a "challenging sandbox" recently? ;) Well, today is the third day of playtesting a single run o...

That's strange isn't it? I still don't know what TM thought. I wanted to have a small amount of reed plants in the city, and if the player needs more, he should import. Well, and the moment the WM site is opened, the reeds never regrow or are harvested (I also did this with flax, but there it worked...

Once you import reeds through a caravan to your city, the reed plants won't regrow in your city.

Yay! :(

I first chose medium desert, it crashed. Then I managed to paint the map in medium desert, then tried to change to floodplain, and it crashed. I started again and painted a little grass/desert, then chose the other grass/desert colour, and it crashed again. I tried again to first make the floodplain...

editor crash when choosing terrain

Hi! I had this problem with the last scenario I made, but thought it was due to the overall "crashiness" of the editor when editing large scenarios. However, I wanted to start the new one, and nearly everytime I change terrain colour, my pc freezes to the point I have to restart it completely. Annoy...

Hi again! 1) For me, a test always crashes when I don't have placed villagers on the map. I think the game test deems this "unplayable" and crashes. You can create a map without a river. You either just can paint some area of the map with floodplain colour where your farmers make their fields just a...

If they go to do anything else during either of these two days, their farming does not get done and yield can go to zero (although that's not likely because their children should still go there). On planting day, it's only daddy farmer who plants the fields. Then he moves on to plant another field ...

Hi, and welcome to the CotN community! Some things in CotN are a bit difficult to understand, because the game is different from other citybuilders. However, I'm here to help with your questions: 1.) The currency in CotN is food. When the harvest comes in, it gets divided between the farmers, their ...

You're right. Well, I think I'll write one anyway, sounds like fun.
Can a true sandbox have events, or do I have to do it all with the worldmap?

Well, you asked for our opinions. If you decide to stay with your own, why bother? We're not here to sell you this game, we just have fun with it and want to share it. But I'm not really sure what you expect of us? You said you don't want to play it fully, you said you don't want to hear that you sh...

Have you ever in your life seen a city where people can build anywhere they want? Obviously, there has to be some sense and planning in it. And this is your job, like deciding whether your workers live next to the distant mines or in the middle of your city where all services are ready available. Wh...

Maybe you should just play it for a while and find out what it gives you for yourself? Obviously, something is keeping you hooked, or you would have laid it aside by now ;) What it gives to me? Freedom to build, as large, as spread, as long as I want. Hundreds of layouts to try instead of one ideal ...

I'm really tempted to write a sandbox for you that ist not easy at all :p Maybe you should know that CotN ist different from games like Caesar, as a sandbox as well as the campaign. Even in the Campaign and single scenarios, you have all options available most of the time. What annoyed me in games l...
