Hey,

I can't sign into SkyDrive - any way you can re-attach it to a forum post?

Or can you explain how to manually adjust the zoom settings?

Unfortunately I didn't download the other parts before the forum hacking attack destroyed all the files here. :( But I would be able to answer some modding questions that the guides would have addressed. Oh no! :( I just reinstalled SCS after a few years away from the game and wanted to learn moddi...

Hi, I recently installed Simcity 4. I use a widescreen monitor. The game works fine, but everything is obviously stretched. All of the resolutions in the graphics options are for non-wide monitors. It's probably impossible to make it play as widescreen, but I would at least like to be able to force...

Pretty basic system you've got but still it should have enough kick to run SCS. I'd put it down to a Windows issue, then.

The Savannah cities at about 4 AM have some really lovely northern-lights like displays in the sky. I only wish the camera could tilt straight up. :(

Oh - a few more things: My RAM is at DDR3-1333.

Also, I'm using the Catalyst 10.4 drivers and my integrated audio on the Gigabyte board is using the drivers supplied by the company.

That may be important?

For industrial, use jails and conditioning. Since many industry housing buildings are already eyesores, you can plop a jail down right next to some high density housing and auto-fire the riot squad at 5am. That will round up the rogues before they can cause trouble. Heavy conditioning is also impor...

I set myself up with an Authoritarian filter, Normal gameplay, no strategic (so no maintenance stuff). I picked a Tropical Coast setting, and pushed it to 20,000 sims albeit concentrated in about one-quarter of the overall map. The streets and interface changed so it's definitely full-bore Authorita...

Controlled Economy worth it?

Even though this thread shows a workaround (?) for the Bubble Bust problem, I generally find that bubbles are more hassle than they're worth since pausing to spend all the bubble-cash on new development doesn't help when the treasury crashes to near zero. Is there any use for a Bubble or should I e...

I am running Windows 7 and am having the same issue as the OP. The game installs and runs fine without the lastest patch. The issue is after I install patch 5. I believe it has to do with the location that the script is trying to run and don't have permissions to in Windows 7. Anyone else trying th...

Yeah, it's a nice-looking city. :) I usually play the more temperate areas (I guess 'cause I live in one :D ) but I should try a desert + a river and see how it looks when a city's fairly built-up. :)

As a workaround, try running the game on absolute minimum settings, and boost your AGP aperture up if it's an AGP card and you have the available memory.

Welp, I tweaked a couple settings (I think I dropped the Shadow settings a little, and I forget what else) and it seems to be better-behaved. It's still running at max res (1680x1050) which is whee-fun-etc.

I didn't notice much of a difference when I clocked my CPU back to stock either, so meh. :P

Your system's not bad for SCS at all and should play it reasonably well at low resolutions. Have you perhaps updated your graphics drivers? Also, have you tried the kludge of forcing the refresh rate to 60 Hz for all DirectX games?
