Basically how I got here was to set the filter to "Show All", and then pick the things needed to get Haunted Houses etc. :)

Update. I was able to generate the effect pretty quickly. I plopped down about five Haunted Houses in a row along with a Castle Ruin and a few Creepy Barns plus Shacks. The sky basically is now permanently purple and the sun is blood-red all the time, and the houses have fog coming from them all the...

I'm going to try that later on today and see if I can generate a city with a Haunted societal energy. :)

Well, the Conditioning pushes moods to a balanced center, so Authoritarian cities tend to cut off the extremes of happiness/sadness. Right after that first picture showed up, I did the Quash Subversives/Dispatch Secret Police/Police Overtime/Throw people in jail, and the moods basically squashed int...

The city has reached its peak! The Revolutionary Sim Front was so successful that a Master Manipulator Award was achieved by the glorious Mayor. :) The crowning government building to be built was the Palace of Justice, placed right among the humble Cube homes of the hard-working non-subversive citi...

The rapid expansion of Pacifica continues. All the Row Houses have now been replaced with Cube Housing, all the better with which to ensure a decent standard of living for citizens. The surveillance equipment keeps out subversive elements, of course. A Children's Museum has been added for educationa...

Hum - one thing that stands out is that your graphics card is an ATI X1050. I'm not sure if SCS supports that card. If it does, another thing people say causes problems is if an ISO image mounter is running like Daemon Tools or the like. Try exiting those programs then re-running SCS and see what ha...

The city continues to expand, upgrading housing to Cubes, complete with surveillance equipment to keep the counter-revolutionary elements at bay. The Hall of Records has been built, ensuring that accurate records of every citizen shall be kept in perpetuity, along with approved historical texts and ...

Pacifica [City Journal]

The Revolutionary Sim Front has formed the Socialist Mayoralty of Pacifica! In the beginning, several Row Houses were built, along with three Oil Power Plants to ensure adequate power for the growth needs of the City during the One-Year Plan. Since a Mayor is the vanguard of the Revolution, he must,...

Fog on buildings?!

I had an "Outbreak" incident in my town, and for a while there about half my buildings had this weird fog emanating from them  - what is this supposed to represent? Spread of the disease or fumigation, or...?

I think the main problem is that the modding community is hampered by a few things: 1. The mod manager seems to be a bit flaky. 2. The structure of XML files changed between pre-patch 5 and patch 5, so in effect modding has to be done along parallel tracks, meaning twice the work. I don't think most...

I have a question about possible dynamic resizing of the maps according to SCS detecting system capabilities. I'm wondering about this because I'm playing on the following: Pentium Dual Core E2200 1 gig RAM Asus EAH4350 512 meg video card (passively cooled) Now I could SWEAR that when I played on my...

Bulding Action Changes?

I'm wondering how easy it would be to alter the name of the action on the Hall of Records in the Authoritarian filter. The reason I ask is that currently it's a "Ancestor Audit" which doesn't really fit with the quasi-communist societies I build under that filter. so I was wondering if it was possib...
