<3 the pause button

I seem to spend quite a lot of time with my game on pause, particularly in the very beginning. I like planning things out (where stuff will go in particular), putting part of it in place, then unpausing and seeing how things unfold. Now, I've done okay so far. I won't claim that my cities are the be...

Her. ;) /blush whoops! This is new since the patch. Noone ever wanted to worship Ma'at before. Now I think some want to worship her when some people are very unhappy for whatever reason. Note that not the unhappy people themselves want to worship but others. hrm. I'll watch for that next time. It s...

The help says rarely worshipped and I've seen her as one of the more worshipped "lesser gods". Agreed... at least, it seems like a whole lot of people want to worship her if you don't have a shrine to her, whereas Set and Sobek I can skip entirely as long as I don't have a military. One question - ...

if you click on someone going to Bast, they will say they are going to pray for the health of a child. The dissatisfaction reading if they don't get to worship says that they wanted to give thanks for a healthy child. Two slightly different reasons. ;) hrmmm.... I always interpreted Bast as the god...

I have Labbed the Health popup alerts to kingdom come. I believe they are basically random events just like the Cult Temple one, I'm glad you mentioned that - I frequently get that message even after I've built a cult temple. Same with the temple of Ma'at one. unless you have all your farmers on ve...

Nope, didn't let it run all night. :) Early on I actually had some food problems - I had a few failed floods (there were a couple years when I got +9 from my harvest... 9!) and as a result I may have overcompensated. I had 5 scribes assessing taxes, so every field was counted every harvest. I also h...

The last time I played I put one in (without an attending scribe), and watched for a bit. I saw someone come up and 'browse for commodities' then walk away with some tin.... so, Tinkerbell was right. :) It definitely works without a scribe in 1.3.0.1.

You had problems with malnutrition? As in pop-ups? I've never seen these before, interesting. I couldn't find an event for it either. Yes... it says things like how measles has broken out, and doctors say that malnutrition is implicated. Or how people are being forced to go to the hospital for abce...

I use a ratio of 1/3 wheat, 2/3 everything. I set that as soon as I start. If I build 8 nobles, I set 3 to wheat for taxes. Lately, I have been building 12 nobles, so I have been setting 4 to wheat. Do you still have health issues with that setting? I had tons of food - that wasn't an issue (at lea...

It does, thanks! The building label was what had me worried - I was afraid they might have re-patched it to fix it. Good to know that's not the case.

My apologies for dredging up a very old post... after reading it I am still somewhat confused about exchanges. I understand that they are useful for distributing materials (that part I get), the part I don't get is whether or not a scribe is really needed. Here, and in other posts, I've seen it ment...

Hi Yahya! Here's some pictures of my city. I should say right off the bat that it's not perfect... there's definitely some things I would change if I had it to do over. One mistake I made was where I put my overseer/laborers. I started off with only 4 laborers (for hauling statues), and I just stuck...

Hi there! I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination... I'm only on my 5th scenario (not counting multiple plays of the tutorials) and I'm playing the 'easy' cities on normal mode. That being said, I think I've learned quite a bit (partly thanks to the forums) in that time. Some things that...

How many soldiers per ship?

Hello all! I'm wondering if any of the gurus here can tell me how many soldiers can fit on a ship... I replayed the tutorial and figured out that one commander can handle 30 soldiers, but it didn't mention anything about how many will fit on a ship. Is the number the same? Also, are ships always nee...

Malandra, all granite quarrying requires a trigger to be fired before it will happen. A trigger is fired by earning a stele, or obelisk on the World Map & then placing & building the base outta bricks from your Monuments Build Menu. The other way a granite trigger is fired is to have/open a World M...

it does help, thanks! I'm glad I found this forum... just started playing again recently (I got it ages ago but gave up when I couldn't figure certain things out) and I'm determined to figure it all out this time. Is there some sort of trick to making the laborers work? In the first scenario (the ea...

I'm sorry to highjack your thread, brianosaur, but I'm having a similar problem and thought I'd ask for help as well.

there was mention of having barge landings too close together in one of the responses... could you elaborate?
