If you want specific requirements for housing evolution, Caesar 4 Heaven has this article. I still find it helpful. :)

Kayuna , about the scribes, the thing I found most useful when I started was to build a bakery (and a papyrus maker) nearby whenever I placed a scribe house. This bakery should be in addition to one needed by other government workers such as brickmakers. Many people have posted about the laziness o...

Jahzoo , it definitely sounds like there is something wrong with your program. Hiero 's a master of scripting, but I don't think even he could make only diagonal roads available. :D ( Hiero , please don't take this as a challenge. :eek :) Statues become available as the game progresses. I'm not sur...

I completed the contest version of this, several times. Unfortunately, it was a while ago. Also, I moved recently. I looked through some of my papers to see if I could find my notes on this one, but I couldn't. :( Some hints from what I remember. The key to this is unlocking the trade rou...

I think someone sneaks in at night and adds more boxes. I had the computer up within the first week, although I couldn't find one of the speakers for a couple of weeks. :o I just haven't had a lot of time to play. :)

I don't think this is a change, Jim. It is when the Priest actually heads for the mortuary that the coffin appears. Man, I always hate it when your game behaves differently from mine. :p Prior to the enhancement, when the mortuary was completed the coffin would appear, whether there was a priest he...

Thanks for all of your hard work on this. On to bigger and better things...maybe. :o Check out Iceni Queen over at http://www.citybuildingcontests.net . I did notice that the education priest only goes to the school when he has students. But as others have commented, he doesn't seem to teach as long as before. I don't know if they reduced how long he teaches or perhaps they changed how long the students want to stay. They might have also changed how...

Best of All Worlds

Best of All Worlds "Ave, Aedile. Caesar and the Senate are sending you to the Roman client state of Judea to assist its king, Herod, in building a great port city. The state of Judea is lacking in any valuable resources. Herod, and Rome, hope that building a trade port to act as an intermediary bet...

Man, that was a long slog to the end. My computer started lagging badly toward the end. I think there was some snow starting and armies everywhere when the lag turned to a freeze and then the game just quit to desktop. Fortunately, I had a save which I went back to and eventually won. I had a simila...

I replayed Nekhen a few days ago and I think they definitely changed something. I used the starting bricks to build a bakery and then a priest that I set to education. I used my first bricks to build a school. The first three nobles that moved in had no children. Of the six I finally got, I think on...

Hello, mialisa. I have a scenario that I created of Caesaria. If I can find the time in the next few days, I'll get it together and post it. It has plenty of trade, but it isn't a sandbox. It has goals and I found it a little challenging if I do say so myself. ;)

I'm not sure loading someone else's completed city will open the empire for you. If you do a search for Carthago in this forum, I'm sure you might find a thread with a game save in it. With small area, the game will ignore the larger min/max. And each effect fires once only, so I did the effect five times in the same trigger. You probably already know this, but for anyone else reading this thread, you can only create one object per grid square. The grid square also can't be built...
