I've been playing this one for a week (mornings and evenings, about 5 hours a day) and have gotten to 200 prestige points. I thought I was doing really well as I had finally defeted the seapeople :D ....then another enemy pops up! Not to mention that about then I remembered that I need 1000 prestige...

Ok, I've got it now, I think... I had to download the version without the multimedia content first for some reason. I'm not sure if the full version actually downloaded, it should have taken longer than it did  , but things seem to be working. Is there a way to tell if I've actually got th...

Oops, didn't have enough prestige after all. A couple of Pharoah deaths and I'm way under the 400 needed. I would have had enough when the last pyramid was finished but the Pharoah died just as it was completed and put me under again  It did give me a chance to get some great screen shots tho :...

Thanks for the suggestion about the shipwrights Anya, but it doesn't really seem to make a difference. The shipwright I had before I built the Navy commanders has apparently decided to become a lazy alcoholic bum :( and let his wife support him while the one I built after the commanders is happily b...

I've picked the best of all of my cities - three tries so far - to post. I've seen other posts that gave me better ideas on how to make my cities 'prettier' and I've been watching my people and where they like to party so have a better idea than ever before about where it is best to place plazas for...

Hmmm... every time I played it I ended up with a huge excess of fine limestone, which is why I upped the requirement to activate the Delta Pyramid. How many laborers did you have? I usually have about 50-60 and they seem to come from all over the map to work at that limestone quarry. In the last ve...

I've been having a great time playing this scenario :) I don't spend as much time making my cities as pretty as some people and I'm not as good a 'photographer'. But here is my city so far :D

So in the scenario I just finished playing, I had to create an army of 100 chariots to go beat somebody up. I've noticed this before, but whenever you build a soldier hut, you get the people you need to fill the hut for free - the soldiers do not decrease your population somewhere else on the scree...

I'd really, REALLY like to be able to designate labourers to certain jobs. I find that the things I need done to gain prestige are being left behind while the labourers build the pryamid. (I don't like having a labour pool of 200 or more just to get things done, what do you do with them when they ar...

There should be an Edict that will have all whiners (usually the scribes) sealed into Pharaohs Tomb when he dies. That should be good for a few years of earnest trouble free work.... Stupidly walking about for luxury goods instead of working (ie- insist they stop to shop on the way home from work) ...

Quote: I have had overseers & laborers doing everything possible all at the very same time. You just might need more of each to do it though. I would say especially it is important to have a large pool of laborers. Maybe that's my problem. I never have a very big pool of labourers. Don't usually bu...

For 6 nobles you'll need only one entertainer. Really? Then why do my Nobles always complain they can't attend a feast when I have 1 entertainer for every 3 Nobles? I had also had lots of servants and shops with plenty of goods close by so it's not like they are spending their time shopping...Reaso...

Tell the guards to kill them and hire new ones. Enterteiners are cheap! :p Just kidding man!!! Just kidding. I'd kill them off if I could when I start just to avoid the hassle... :D Kidding I don't worry about the entertainers too early in the game. They don't affect anything until the Nobles and s...

They are all green. Most show no needs, some show a lack of common wares or religion occasionally. There are shops, shrines, healthcare and bakeries and graneries near them. I do often run out of food before the harvest is complete, but not much before. My scribes are always a pain and don't usually...

I have my city going....pretty decent.....but I noticed that there is a Basalt quarry on the other side of the river. I was thinking about putting some farmers over on that side, along with the common shops, and build up the city on that side (along with an overseer, of course). Is this a good and ...

The outstanding question I still have, though, is how to tell which world sites also merit monuments. Some things are more likely, such as explorations, voyages, etc., but is it that straightforward? I love exploring the world map, and thus I've tended to send expeditions off to all ends of the map...
