Your problem is lack of free space on the laptop hard drive windows needs a minimum of 15% free space just to move files around. In order to stop the crashing free up some space on the hard drive by remove some of the files. If you using the cd version of the game be sure to update the game.

If your running the cd version of the game the copy protection doesn't like "virtual drives". Virtual drive software will have to be uninstalled. As for yo...

You can try that but if you use the mod tool you must get your drivers from Ati. Be sure to uninstall your current drivers before attempting to install new drivers.

One problem I can see is that your video drivers are too old the game was tested with driver from mid 2008. If you update your video drivers that should cure your problem. Please post back to let us know if that solved the crash problem.

Thanks for the DX diag. Your current video driver should work. Have you patched the game? Did you install the latest DX 9c? When you changed video drivers did you uninstall the video drivers, reboot and then install the new drivers. If it were me I'd uninstall the video drivers since it sounds like ...

Do you have the RTM version of win 7? If not you don't have the final version of it. As I said running CotN on Vista was an if maybe some people could run it and some couldn't run it. The only thing I can see off hand that is the problem in files needed by the game are DX 9c because DX 10 is missing...

You are running a win 7 which is not a finished version of windows which can be the source of your problem. It could also be a hardware problem from overheating. The game was actually developed on win XP with a possibility of running on Vista. CotN was also designed to run DX 9c while win 7 is a DX ...

The patch requires video drivers from at least mid 2008 while your current driver is from mid 2007. Updating your video driver should solve your problem.

It would be a good idea to update your sound card drivers to at least mid 2008. Drive free space requires at least 15% for on the drive where windows is installed you only have 9%. Not sure what drive you have the game installed on but none of your drives have very much free space.

The space issue is related to what windows needs in the way of free space to move files around and for the page file.
