Default Children of the Nile: Texture Overhaul Project

I was contacted by the author of that site, as he can't post himself here due to new users not being accepted. So here's the link to his site, I'll give him a user id on my forums at staedtebauen.de, so discussions can be on his blog or there.

Yes, very cool idea. If I had the time, I'd help with that project.

I replied to this the other day, but the boards were taken down to move that night and it got lost.

In the mean time, I checked an email address tonight I don't use often and found his email from Feb 15 there. I replied and have sent a note to Jeff to see what can be done about getting him registered here.

Hi everybody,

first, I want to thank Keith and Jeff Fiske for helping me getting registered here.
As you have read, I am working on a texture overhaul for CotN. Moreover, I found some nice post-processing software, which adds some effects concerning the game's graphic. I'd be glad if you'd visit my blog and maybe leave a comment or give me a short feedback on this forum. I'll try to release a first version of the texture pack soon.

Thanks and Regards,
Horus_TOP aka Marco

Took a quick snapshot. The detail is amazing. Especially on a large screen at high resolution.

Default How can I get this file?

This is a great idea and I'd love to install it.

I've hit about 10 different 'download' links. NONE OF THESE LINKS CONTAIN THE H.T.O.P._-0.1.ZIP FILE.

They are all for 'video programs' or 'download managers' or some other program that someone wants me to install for whatever reason.

It's a shame this file isn't available anywhere I can find.

If anyone knows a link to the actual file, please let me know.

Hey Jodet,

here is the link to download the H.T.O.P.

http://www.file-upload.net/download-..._-0.1.zip.html

just hit the small download button with the green arrow and you should be fine

I am sorry for the problems, but I don't own a private server and I have to use this file-sharing site. Maybe I should provide the download to heavengames.com

Regards,
Horus_TOP

You can get a free Microsoft SkyDrive storage site that will hold 25GB. You can put the files you want to share in your "PUBLIC" folder and just pass on the link folder.

The visitor isn't bothered with popups and tons of confusing ads that look like download links to the file.

Well, this is frustrating. I finally got the textures download and the FXAA tool.

But before I've used them I installed the games (steam version) and started them to see how they looked.

I've got really blurry fonts. I'm running 1920x1080, tried both 16 and 32 bit.

I'm using a Radeon HD 6970 with current driver.

Any suggestions? Game is not really playable with this font problem, it's really hard to read.

Hey Jodet,

did I get you right, the problems occured before installing H.T.O.P. and FXAA?
So this seems to be caused by the game itself ? I haven't encountered similar problems. Maybe try to use the FXAA tool and it's sharpening options to get rid of this strange bug.

I'm wondering if it's a Radeon thing. Nvidia seems to work better on most things.

I messed around with FXAA last night and couldn't get the fonts to look better.
