Default Keeping track of employment

At the beginning of a game, the thing I want to know most of all is my labor situation. How many unemployed, etc. I have found out a couple of things that help me get this information quickly.

1 - If you punch the advisor button, you will be taken to the last advisor screen you visited.

2 - F4 is the advisor hot key.

So, at the beginning of a game, I go to the labor advisor, and then use the F4 key thereafter.

lol ~ Grumpus!

I absolutely LIVE on the Advisor & Overlay Screens. ALL of them! Click on people to see what they say too!

OK, a zillion other things too!

Does no one find it inconvenient to have to go to a completely different screen to check on the industry/labor information? It would be helpful if one could see the numbers of unemployed/employed on screen as the city is being managed. That way you know immediately when you have the labor requirements to turn on the next industry or vice versa.

Yes, but it is not allowed in the first campaign, so it would be useful a way to check faster and possibly in real time emplyment situation, morover forum gives only percentage of unemplyment, so you cannot know how many workers you lack or the number you could employ.

I agree with you. I guess I'm used to the last game I really played which was Emperor...I like to be able to glance at things right on the screen without having to open a separate window & basically stop the game while I do. I hope I get used to it but for now I do find it a pain.
