Default I'll say it again...

Once again: for the trade route crash bug try THIS fix. It's even a sticky.

If it still happens and you still get those weird colours: Post your DxDiag file.

Thank you.

I agree. That thought crossed my mind, too.

Default recommended notebook system for caesar IV?

Thanks for answers. If my video card is overheating I suppose there is not much to be done? Also will try the trade fix recommended.

Is there is notebook and specs you could recommend (max 14.1 screen size much travel) that can play C4 with no glitches?

Thanks.

Default tried patch ok

I tried the patch and noticed trade lines much thinner as stated.

My problem wasn't like the others-I could open routes and only experienced trouble when I was back in the city, had placed my trade post (still fine) and clicked on the building to set the commodity limits. Then all motion in the city freezes for about 10 seconds, the screens flash. I then return to the city and am able to lay in my commodity limits. After a min or 2, my screen minimizes and ATI wants to know if I want to send an error report.

Since this doesn't crash my system, I think I'll just shut up and live with it.

You didn't attach a copy of your dxdiag.txt file.

Frustratedfan, please attach your dxdiag file first.

As for overheating... see if there is a diagnosis tool for the video card installed where you can read out the heat of the card. If so, play for a while until/or just before it normally crashes and check the heat reading.

Another thing, make sure that nothing prevents the warm air to leave the laptop. Place the laptop onto 'little feet', something that lifts it a bit off the ground to get better air circulation.

Giving recommendations for laptops is rather difficult because none of us can really guarantee that the game will run for sure.
