I'm one of the folks who's been having constant crashes, despite driver updates, turning off all background apps, turning the graphics settings in the game all the way down, changing that .txt file mentioned in another thread, etc. etc.
Just now I decided to run Add/Remove Pro which I have installed on my computer. I use v.2.08. Imagine my surprise when, on the list the only link that showed up as bad -- a big red X -- was the one for Caesar IV. After its name is this information, which I do not understand: Key name: {B7666229-351B-47D9-AA6F-DF777CF04BBF} Uninstall string: C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\{B7666229-351B-47D9-AA6F-DF777CF04BBF}\Setup.exe -runfromtemp -l0x0009 -removeonly Like I say, I don't know what this means or if providing it is any help. |

That's the installshield key file and should not be removed as long as you have your game installed. I'm not familiar with your program so I don't know what the red X stand for exactly or why it would show a red X if the game itself is installed. When the game is uninstalled the key file you found will be removed as well.
Its possible that the program you have looked in the registry and it referenced that installshield key file from the registry but did not find that actual key file in the Installshield Information Folder (a hidden folder) indicating a bad install. |
