If I have, say, a level 1 market, and I put up items for sale, are people who have larger markets than mine going to be able to see my goods, or do I also have to have a higher level market for them to see it?

Your level 1 market can see goods offered for sale in your local nome as well as the one immediately to the north and south of you. Each upgrade allows you to see one more north and south.
I currently have a level 5 market and can see a total of 11 nomes, my local one and 5 to my north and south. So if you are 5 nomes away from me, I can see and purchase goods you have for sale. |

I have upgraded my market several times and can buy from people further away now. I don´t know if they can see my wares if their market isn´t that high, though.

Well, I just want to know if I'm wasting my time by having a level 1 market and putting up cedar orders. If nobody can see it, because my market level is too low, then there's no point in putting it up right away.

just let it stay posted. People will upgrade their markets to search for your ware, and soon your neighbours will need your cedar, too!
