Default Account Cancellation

ok I admit this feature is already there but it needs some work, I tested this feature today for laughs .. (I have sick humor..)

I was a little shocked at how abrupt it was

you click the button and poof it's automatically gone o_0

What really needs to be added is some kind of confirmation

am I SURE I want to quit Nile online?

yes no?

also I would like a pleasant message after you say yes "Thank you for playing Nile Online"

and heck maybe it should give a 12 hour period in case I change my mind... some people are moody and fickle and will click the button on impulse

it was literally click and *poof* lmao
o_0

PS Sakasiru, did you get the oil I sent you before I nuked o_0
I thought I checked but now I'm unsure D:

If it did not get to you in time I would like to apologize

PPS Reed are you against people deleting their accounts so they can start over?

I really want to see what issues the new players are really dealing with out in the boonies because it will help keep things in perspective... new players are the lifeblood for the game after all and communities that aren't growing are automatically shrinking...

Definitely should at least be a confirmation pop-up (like the market)
and good for you for starting over, I am waiting for when NO goes live, if they don't do a wipe.

Huh? I think you're toying with me?

It does exactly what you've outlined. Yes/no confirmation and a thank you.

Right down to (and this is the actual text):

Your account has been successfully deleted. Thank you for playing Nile Online!

Maybe it's a fluke in the programming, or the game didn't like King for some reason, lol.

nope.. I didn't like to trade for jewelry... I am still upset about the 35 bread per prices on the market...

so why would I trade evenly when jewelry was much cheaper than my perfume on the market? :/

I don't know - guess I'll have to run some tests now.

But yes, you can create a new account.

I know when abana deleted a couple weeks ago, she said it did the same thing for her. She's also using Firefox.

And we're still waiting for our vagrant ships. They seems to have a case of wanderlust.

Hmm, it would appear the zombie plague is spreading

First we have negative workers

Then we have negative soldiers

And now we had a blank (formerly known as king) sending ghost ships around.

At this rate it will spread to the forum and then....to us!...run away now

well then it's a good thing people tested it... with all the deleting accounts threads I'm a little surprised nobody noticed.. or if it worked for them they would have said so here?

I don't know what to think about this thread.

The player should be given the option of a cool-down period so they don't do something stupid like delete their account during an angry impulsive moment.

1) Self-destruct
2) Are you sure, dummy?
3) Your order has been accepted & will be deleted in 5 days unless changed.

I would assume that the instant deletion was, in part, to prevent the player from giving stuff away to other players. I seriously doubt that the player hasn't already taken this into consideration.

This is a very sad thread...

EDIT: I am STILL totally crushed over all of this, so let's continue...

I would also like it publically known that the player has decided to leave the game. Add a line to Profile that alerts player's friends so that they can begin the begging to stay in the game during the 5-day "think seriously about this please"...
