I was going for my second monument plot in the same nome and got this message:

So... how do I progress now? |

Darn good question......
Since we have no idea what the criteria is, its hard to tell if leveling up your palace in that nome would help. Reed? |

Go for a plot in a more developed nome, or wait till your plot gets more developed.

I think the formula we figured out (which may have since been tweaked) was a Total of 40 Palace Levels in a single Nome to be defined as "Developed"
I.e.: You have 5 players in the nome. One has a Level 10 Palace, Another a Level 11, Another a Level 5, Another Level 2, and Another Level 4. 10 + 11 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 32, Therefore, the nome is no longer developed enough to have a monument. However, in another nome, you have 10 players each with a level 5 city, that's "developed", even though from a logical standpoint, it's less developed than the first. |

I's not 40. I have this message in a nome with 7 cities and a total palace level of 44.

Yeah dunno. went looking for a solid number, and found a nome with only 8 palaces, totalling 28 palace levels, with a monument...
maybe it's "Number of palaces"? you said yours is only 7... |

I took a plot in my nome when the total was 54. It was still possible then. I can't take a second one.

Right, but if it's based on number of palaces rather than palace level, it could be you had 8 players in the nome before, and now you only have 7.
*shrugs* I dunno. You can always look in a different nome up or down and take one there. That's what I did originally. my first two monuments, when I was simply testing, were 2 hours away from my nome. |

Hmm, I just thought of something. This means that I can pull out the soldiers from my already existing monument in this same nome. Nobody else can attack here either, right? Neener neener

Just saw this thread. I posted the same thing -- and I'm equally annoyed about it. My existing army is eating me out of house and home (and palace, too). Now I have to build up another set of barracks in another city, start building another army, AND hope that nome is and stays developed enough for me to get my second monument site.
At least I know now that I'm not alone. Well, I am alone in my nome :-) but not in my suffering. |

attack with your existing army.

Surely there will be an empty site in a developed nome not too far from you. Are your cities very far apart? Seems you're attacking this problem from the wrong perspective.

I didn't realize you could go after a monument plot in another nome. Thanks for that info -- my soldiers are now marching toward a monument site in a populated nome not far from their home city.
