Default BUG: cannot set laborers in chrome

Hi,

I just started playing NO today, and I'm experiencing a bug while trying to play in Chrome (version: 4.0.249.78 beta (36714)). I searched through the forums, but could not find anyone else talking about the same problem.

Whenever I go to the particular "page" for something (for example, step 2 in the Primer says to click on the reed marsh, and set the laborers to max), the controls to set the number of laborers do not appear at all. On the same computer, i loaded NO in firefox, and the controls do show up, but in Chrome that box is just empty, nothing appears to try to load there. It shows me the controls (in the box below that) for upgrading, and the results of what the upgrade would be, so SOME controls seem to load.

Debug info:
u:38931 (theoris) array ( 19627 => 'Djedu', )array ( )
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/4.0.249.78 Safari/532.5

Any help on what might be wrong, and how to get this to work in Chrome, would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jeremy

Default Same problem here

I have the same problem. I've played the game for quite some time, and these problems have only recently arisen.

In addition to no longer seeing the area where you can assign the number of laborers, I also noticed that the sliders where you can determine the quantity of, e.g., things to transport no longer work - you have to manually input the numbers now.

Plus, the remaining time is no longer displayed during upgrades - there is just a black bar. When I hit refresh, the time appears, but next time I access the page, I have to refresh again or it won't show.

Yes, i had noticed the construction/upgrade times now showing up too, althought i hadn't thought to put it into my original post. i'll take your word about the shipping controls, i have yet to try to ship anything (as i don't have any ships yet )

I'm having the same issues - a black box where my workers designation should be, a black bar where the construction time should be. Am going to have to play in IE until this gets fixed

Mine's been like this for two days now, and since I can't stop my production, I'm having to ship goods and materials between my monuments to store them!

It is true! I normally use Firefox but I had Chrome on my system, an old version starting 3.0.195. I logged into Nile and it worked.

Then I updated Chrome to version 4.0.249.78 and it is broken. Not possible to allocate workers or to use the sliders in the Exchange. Looks like a recent change to Chrome may have caused this.

Edit: I say recent because there have been no reports of this before. It may not only be the very latest version though. Old versions of Chrome can be found at http://www.filehippo.com/download_go...hrome/history/ if anyone want to roll back.

Is there any fix on the horizon for this? As pretty much an exclusive user of Chrome, this really hinders my playing...

Chrome is not to be held responsible that one particular website is not shown properly. If they will amend their program just to accommodate us it would be great, but don't count on it.
Hrm, TM should remove their recommendation of Chrome instead for the time being.

Cheers!

Does the creator still update the game/care about it? It makes no sense to me why this serious bug hasn't been addressed yet... STILL...
