Hi guys! I wanted to say great game so far!
I know it is kinda late in the development process but I wanted to comment on the unrealistic art done for the face of the Sphinx: ![]() This is from June 1st. Look at the face. That is not Egyptian looking at all in my opinion. The statues surrounding the Sphinx appear more convincing. Looks like a face that belongs on a bust of Julius Casaer. |

Perhaps TM have incorporated the face of a real person intentionally.
Perhaps we will never know ![]() Hath x |

Perhaps it's a glimpse of what might be an "easter egg." Perhaps it's the face of a member of the Tilted Mill team or a relative?

perhaps its a pre release (roten) easter egg: You see it now, but when you get the game, you look for it and its not there... and the developers are setting at the desks giggling because eveyone is looking for the silly face!

hmmm... I saw this white-faced sphinx on another screenshot too, so I assume that maybe this is a official thing (?) Yes, but it certainly looks like someone's face, probably some team's friend or something... kinda funny

Perhaps they have been working so hard and so long indoors on CotN that they have not been exposed to sunlight for an aweful long time. Hence the white and pasty appearance!!
Most unhealthy but a worthy sacrifice for their loyal fans ... ![]() |

I think the face on the sphinx makes me think of Tim Curry, just without the goatee and stuff. hehe

Haha. Now that photo is downright bizarre.
This has got to be an easter egg. If it's not.. Uhh.. The designers must have pulled an all-nighter when making those faces. A while back, in another thread (too lazy to find the link), Keith said that the temples' colours were much more lively in those days and that's how it should be in the game. Still, in the latest video, the colours still look the same (heh, that rhymes). There was no reply from the designers, I think.. |

It is probably one of the designers with delusions of grandeur depicted on the sphinx .

For what it's worth folks, according to my research the Great Sphinx was painted. Whether it was painted when it was built or later I don't know. I believe most Egyptian monuments were also colored to some degree.
As to the other comments about the appropriateness of its appearance, they are noted and appreciated. |

According to everything I watched on the History channel and Discovery, all the archeologists and such say that everything was painted to make them look alive and stuff like that. And the pyramids had paintings on the facings, most likely why they were dressed in limestone, to make painting more visible...
