Cannot play the game

I can start the game and have changed all the graphics and sound to best performance, updated my drivers. I start the tutorial games. The first one loads and runs for about 1 minute (at best) then totally locks up the computer. I tried it on another computer and it runs fine.

I have tried several of the remedies shown here and still no luck. Attached is my dxdiag file. Please help!

From what I can see and tell your Dxdiag looks okay.

What does your computer have running on it that the other computer you tried the game on did not?

What sort of video and soundcard does that other computer have?

How similar is your computer to the other computer?

Try running the game with all the sounds turned off and see if that helps. If it does the problem is most likely something to do with the soundcard or it's drivers.

It was time to reinstall the OS. I only installed the OS, virus scan, sound and video drivers. The game plays as long as I uncheck all the sound selections, but the graphics are chunky and jumping all over the screen. I have a Gainward Nvidia GeForce 3 TI200 graphics card with 128mg ram. Any suggestions?

Ever thought of replacing your graphics card with a newer model, if (money-wise) possible?
Do you turn off the virus scan application before running the game?

I haven't had the card that long about 18 months. I disable the virus software before playing the game. The other computer that the game works on is a lower end graphics card and processor with the same ram. I do a lot of graphic work and so far the only application that has had a problem is this one. I have a feeling it might be the sound card causing the problem, is that possible? The game will not run if any of the sounds are turned on.

If the game "plays" with all the sound turned off, that may indicate that your sound card drivers are too old, or, your sound card itself is obsolete.

What version drivers for your video card do you have? You may want to update to July 2004 61.77 drivers which seem fairly stable. Newer November Nvidia drivers seem to be problematic.
