I am playing the game for the second time around and have had this problem several times in various cities...
I have at present 90 farms and at least three scribes assessing taxes. All is well during harvest, all fields have been counted, but come flood period and zero food appears in the food ledger. I have to wait until the next harvest for food. Is this a bug or what? And another observation....The nobles kill off all the hippos, gators, etc. in the area and then have the hutzpah to complain that they can't go hunting!!! |

Are there raiders in your city?
What's the size of your vagrant population? These two may be making off with your food supplies. Do you have a city guard, guard posts, and commander set to city guard? These will help prevent the looting and theft. |

~ How much are you exporting food for goods ? Have you built up a reserve of food for export ?
~ When you say, "come flood period and zero food" I'm assumeing that at 7:20pm on harvest, you do have food. This indicates that you are eating/useing/exporting more than what you can farm. Either build a couple more nobels and farmers, cut out some government workers, or close down some trade, and create a trade reserve. ![]() |
