Hello Elmo!
Have you tried Emperor, Rise of the Middle Kingdom or Children of the Nile? Both are excellent city building games, Emperor is more like Caesar3 and Pharaoh. I enjoyed both of them very much.

I'm sorry if I create a new thread for this, but it is the news of my day!

OMG, Caesar game is not dead!

The most interesting thing is that even if it is the 4th Caesar, it doesnt seem to be bad! (the other game serie that i like is Rainbow 6 and the 4th was totally awful!)

THANK YOU A LOT

Welcome to the board. A number of us have been anxiously awaitng Caesar IV. The "fall of 2006" is still a long time off though. Hopefully we will finally get a information update within the upcomming weeks; at the end of which the E3 convention occurs.

Thanks for the suggestions . I went to amazon.com and found Children of the Nile for like $17 and I'm thinking about buying it on Friday. I'm still looking for a good price for Emporer.

While shopping around for games, I 've noticed that there are a lot games that really focus on the battles, such as, Warcraft and Age of Empires, but there aren't as many games like Caesar that are also about city building. I guess the battle games are very popular. As much as I love the battles in Caesar and Pharaoh, I would think that it would get kind of dull if there were no cities to build. Just my opinion.

Quite ok for me and the main thing is it is not many bug like other games and the graphic is also good although it is almost 8 years when I still play that game.

Thanks

so the question is this: are you consuming a certain substance at this moment to account for this hiatus?

plus, i feel you. caesar3 was the kind of game that i has never seen before. the isometric setup was just so much appealing to me that i fell in love with it. i still love to do draw isometric figures for manual drafting thanks to caesar3.

Caesar3's graphic still not bad although it is not 3D and the people are extremely large (almost as big as a building) and its gameplay also very well except the gods which makes my empire ends when i am poor because they want me to build temples but i dont have the money so enemies come, crops destroyed, traders can't come because of waves, citizens hate me....all these thing destroy me city just in 5 minutes.

Thanks

high unemployment was my bane. it devasted my infrastructure with almost half the population emigrating thus leaving many jobs vacant and thus my infrastructure devastaed. it always took at least a year before things got to normal again.

I dont have too high unemployment because once i found it i will build something that needs many workers such as hospital, library to make their life better and all I meet is not enough workers in the city.

Thanks

from my experience, one has to be quick to respond in caesar3 in the beginning of the game. careful city planning has to wait as i have seen firsthand. pharaoh was ever so much easier to handle.
